In January 2019, they met in true millennial fashion on the dating app, Hinge! After chatting for a couple of days, Keith asked Marissa if she'd like to meet in person and they decided to grab a drink at Keystone Bar and Grill right next to her apartment. They talked for hours and Keith told her he was driving to Iowa the next day to visit family and would reach out about getting together again. She hoped this wasn't some sort of excuse to ghost her😂 She was excited he continued to text her and they set up a second date (ironically at Keystone again) for a Harry Potter Trivia night. Keith will never let it go he missed the question about Griphook! Who knew their love for Harry Potter would later turn into an annual movie marathon at Christmas time. They continued to go on dates and get to know each other in Covington so it made sense to make their wedding venue where they met!❤️

Their first summer together was full of fun and some of the fondest memories of being a new couple. Keith, being an avid music festival goer, brought Marissa to her first music festival, Bunbury! They are both fans of Fall Out Boy and he got to witness Marissa fangirl PRETTY hard.

This first summer also brought their first road trip! Keith brought her to Iowa for the first time to meet his very large and loving Boyle family over July 4th where she got to participate in the annual Boyle Hillbilly Olympics. This event is no joke- medals for the winners! Marissa has really enjoyed this tradition and they look forward to it every summer! His family is only just a little bit competitive😉

They've been very fortunate to go on some awesome trips together, San Francisco and Denver being two of their favorites! They hope to take an international trip together soon!

Life got weird during COVID 19 and since they didn't want to quarantine separately. Keith offered for Marissa and Calvin to quarantine at his house which was a nice segway into moving in together. It was a fun and interesting dynamic with Keith working upstairs in his office and Marissa turning the basement into her virtual classroom. Together they've made it their home and Keith is the most amazing cat dad to Big Cal❤️

In August 2021, they planned a weekend trip to a cabin in Gatlinburg, TN, but little did Marissa know, that Keith had bigger plans! Keith originally planned to take her out to dinner and propose after, but it was such a rocky drive to get there, that they decided they weren't leaving the cabin until the end of the weekend.

All-day Keith tried to find a good time to propose and kept trying to drop hints but Marissa continued to be oblivious to the suggestions to maybe take a shower by putting a hair mask in her hair, staying in her pj's all day, and curling up on the couch to watch the movie, the Sister Act.

Keith realized this was the best he was going to get from her, so he finally, was able to coax her out onto the balcony where he told her there was another reason they were there for the weekend. He got down to one knee and after saying yes, Marissa asked if anyone knew to which Keith responded, "EVERYBODY KNOWS!" 🤣
