Marissa Explains It All


Our story begins about six years ago....Sean and I are both axe throwers. At some point in the beginning of my time working at Detroit Axe, we followed each other on instagram. His name stood out to me when he would interact with my posts because it was so silly and unique. After doing a little creeping, I thought he was ridiculously handsome and seemed like a sweet and down to earth guy. My curiosity was definitely peaked.


Fast forward a few years, I found him on facebook and eventually in May of 2022, I sent him a message after having some liquid confidence letting him know I thought he was cute. We immediately started messaging every day...talking to him was so easy and it felt like we had known each other forever. In July we had our first FaceTime date, which quickly became a weekly occurrence. Finally in September, COVID restrictions were lifted at the border and we could plan our first trip to meet each other. We met in Toronto that November for a magical five day first date where we made everything official and professed our love for one another. I immediately knew that I had found my husband and our love has kept us going despite the distance now for 3 years. I am so excited to celebrate our marriage surrounded by our loved ones and for him to finally be here in the states for good so we can enjoy the rest of our lives together!
