“Sometimes what you’re looking for comes when you’re not looking at all.”

Marissa and Joe are two people that most likely would have never met if it wasn’t for a random summer evening in July 2020 at their friend Amanda’s party. Neither expected to meet one another that night, but fate intervened and proved that “everything happens for a reason.”

Marissa and Joe began dating during the height of Covid times, and even though restaurants, bars, movie theatres, etc. were closed, the couple got to know each other by spending their evenings and weekends at Marissa’s house.

The couple’s friend Amanda had passed almost a year later after introducing the two, which was a very difficult time for both Marissa and Joe. She was an important person in both of their lives and the couple had one another to lean on for support and love. Marissa and Joe take comfort in knowing that Amanda’s spirit is with them every day and they have an Angel watching over them from heaven.

Fast forward two and a half years later, Joe had plans to propose to Marissa on the beach on their trip to Punta Cana this past May. Marissa had spoiled his original plans to propose due to not feeling well the first two days of the trip. Joe was upset and anxious because he had planned the perfect proposal for several months. The next day, on Memorial Day, Marissa got the strength to get herself together and make it to dinner that evening. Little did she know, Joe had plans to pop the question!

After posing for a picture, Joe got down on one knee asked Marissa to spend forever with him. Joe’s mother and close friends were ready to take photos and videos of the special moment. Cheers and happiness filled the air when he asked, “Will you marry me?”

“No measure of time with you will be long enough, but let’s start with forever.”
