Every love story is unique, but ours has been decades in the making. It all started in middle school, when we were just two kids with no idea how much our lives would intertwine. We were friends—nothing more, nothing less—but we shared classes, laughed at the same jokes, and had a lot of the same friends and awkward experiences. As high school arrived, life took us in different directions. We each navigated our own challenges and new friendships, drifting apart as we focused on different things. But even as we grew, we never quite forgot the bond we had formed back in those early years. Then came college—a time of change and new beginnings. During the winter break of our sophomore year, we reconnected. What started as a simple catch-up with Taco Bell (which we never actually got) and a drive around Solomons Island quickly turned into something more after talking for hours and sharing our favorite songs with one another. Shout out Zac Brown Band. From that point on, we faced everything together. Long-distance relationships tested us, rough patches gave us strength, and we learned more about each other than we ever thought possible. But through it all, one thing remained constant: the love we shared only deepened with each passing day. Our journey hasn’t always been easy, but it’s always been worth it.
