How We Met:Although Adam and Marissa met on dating app (thank you, Hinge!), they both knew shortly after meeting that they would be deleting the app very soon. Their first date was brunch at Carving Room in Adam's neighborhood in DC. Marissa, in true Marissa fashion, was probably 20 minutes late -- oops! As Marissa can be shy at first, the date started off a little slow but by the end the conversation was flowing and Adam recommended walking over to the Building Museum. They spent the rest of the afternoon exploring and talking and the date finished with plans for a second! The Proposal:Adam had been planning a 30th birthday party for Marissa on her actual birthday. In order to celebrate just the two of them, he told Marissa he'd taken the day off of work so they could walk down on the mall (one of Marissa's favorite things to do), get coffee and then go to brunch. Adam decided that they should walk down by the Christmas tree at the Capitol Building -- and who was Marissa to disagree (anyone who knows her knows she loves Christmas). As they were walking up to the tree, Adam veered off the path a little bit, got down on one knee and told Marissa he'd finally found the right Cracker Jack box with the perfect ring. It was a perfect moment! After the initial shock wore off, Marissa realized their friend Kent had been there to take pictures of the moment! It was perfect.

Michelle is Marissa's little sister and best friend in the world. They've gone on so many adventures together from Aruba to Budapest and beyond. Life has certainly thrown some curve balls at them (both good and not so good), but everything seems to be a little bit more manageable knowing they have each other to go to with their troubles as well as celebrations! There's no one else Marissa could imagine to be her maid of honor!

Mike and Adam's friendship goes back over 3 decades. Their friendship began in preschool and grew to include basketball games, kaybrook pool days, and endless hours spent around the neighborhood (Green Hills). Their friendship continued to include all the big moments and we are very excited to have Mike be a part of this one.

MaryKate is Marissa's cousin -- though she always has been more like a sister. Growing up close, their bond has just been more solidified in adulthood. They've traveled Europe together and have been through lots of ups and downs. One thing is for certain -- no matter where life takes them they'll always have each other to lean on.

Sean and Adam's friendship began in 6th grade and it continued to strengthen throughout the years. Adam really enjoyed visiting Sean in DC and it was no surprise he ended up there himself. This is a good thing, because it is where he met Marissa. Although Sean is no longer stateside, Adam and Sean remain very close.

Blair is Marissa's cousin and has been such an amazing friend since Marissa moved to DC four years ago. She took her under her wing and was actually the one who made Marissa go on her first date with Adam when she got nervous and almost cancelled! Adam and Marissa have loved getting to spend so much time with her and Tim and can't wait for more adventures in the future!

Mike and Adam's friendship began in preschool. Many days were spent in the Goll's living room playing gamboy and down in the basement learning how to play pool. Adam enjoyed visiting Mike wherever in the world Coutney's job took them. We are happy to have them back stateside, and luckily they landed in another great place to visit (SF).

Sydney and Marissa have been friends for over 10 years now. From college, working at Cucina and now into real life, they've remained so close. They've made it a point to see each other a few times a year -- especially since they were much closer with Sydney in NC! Now Syd is in Austin, but don't let that fool you -- Marissa and Adam will be down there to visit in no time! Marissa is so lucky to have a best friend like Syd.

Adam remembers Robin teaching him how to draw cool characters and cartoons in Ms. Mensingers 2nd grade class -- where they first became friends. Throughout the years Robin has always been there to help teach Adam the new basketball moves, soccer moves, and now golf moves. Let's hope he can pass on a few dance moves before the reception.

Sarah and Marissa have been friends since college. They worked at a restaurant together and even lived together for almost 5 years! Although they (sadly) live far apart, they've remained extremely close. Sarah is easily one of Marissa's best friends to this day!

Adam and Tim's friendship began at West Chester when Adam lived with Tim's older brother, Nick (Ram King). Adam always feels at home when there is an Onushco present. Adam and Tim's friendship continued throughout the years though endless road trips and "boy's" nights. 

Nicole was Marissa's first friend in DC. They met coincidentally by sitting next to each other on their first day of orientation at the hospital. Despite working on different units, their friendship has grown so much over the last few years. Marissa feels so lucky to have such a great friend in DC!

Adam's fraternity brother (KDR) and now DC neighbor. Adam and Kent's friendship has span from West Chester to Lancaster, and now to DC. Adam and Marissa take credit for introducing Kent to his now GF, Nicole (Marissa's bridesmaid).

Michelle is Adam's sister. She's been able to visit Marissa and Adam a few times since they've moved in together and it's always been a great time. Marissa is excited to be gaining Michelle as a sister!

Adam's childhood friend and next door neighbor. Brian was also Adam's roommate in Lancaster for six years. During that time Adam and Brian became even better friends and Adam was even there the night Brian met his future wife.

Mariella (Ella) is Marissa's youngest first cousin. Coming from a family where the majority of the cousins are boys, Ella and Marissa have become quite close -- us girls have to stay together! Marissa and Adam are so excited to have Ella be a part of their big day!

Adam remembers some great times up in Maine on middle school and HS road trips. Those trips to Maine continued nearly annually when Paul moved back to Portland after college. Paul and Adam have been there for each other through their own ups and downs. We are very happy to share this up moment with him standing by Adam's side.

We will be having charter buses take guests to-and-from the venue from both of the hotels we have reserved room blocks from. If you wish to drive instead, you are more than welcome as there is plenty of parking at the venue.

Downtown Leesburg is less than 15 minutes away from the venue/hotels. It has a cute, old, small town vibe with lots of restaurants, shops and a brewery. It's a really cute place to walk around! A little outside of downtown Leesburg, you may also want to visit Vanish Brewery, Bleu Frog Vineyards or the Old Lucketts Store!

Bear Chase Brewing Company is a great outdoorsy brewery. The brewery itself has a great view, but there are also several small hikes near by such as Bear's Den Overlook.

Our hotels and venue are only about a 45 minute drive from Washington, DC! We highly recommend if you have an extra day to make the trip. There is so much to do! If you decide to head into DC for a day, let us know if we can give you any recommendations!
