Our Story

Our story starts in the middle of the biggest snowstorm we had ever seen in Owego, NY... in the middle of the pandemic. We matched on the app Bumble and learned that we both enjoyed the outdoors, hiking the Adirondack mountains and Italian food! We met at a coffee shop for our fist date and instantly hit it off.

Our love stood the test of time and distance as Marissa was finishing college at Gannon University. Sam would drive up (4 hours) to visit whenever he could.

Upon graduating, we started spending more time together and learned that we made a really good team! We started living together and truly began thinking long term. Over the next few years, we experienced many life milestones and traveled to new places we had always wanted to go.

We planned a bucket list trip to Italy where we explored a whole new country and got engaged!

Sam bent the knee at the top of Florence, Italy where we enjoyed a picnic, watched a beautiful sunset, and committed to the next step in our love for each other.

We are excited for this monumental day and to share it with you all. We hope to see you there!

Allie Pado - Maid of honor

Allie and Marissa were buddies in middle-highschool, teammates in swim and track, and have remained great friends through the years. They have enjoyed many adventures hiking in the Adirondack mountains. Allie is studying to be a pediatric doctor.

Rachel Scott - Bridesmaid

Rachel has been a role model to the Scott sisters through the years as the oldest sister. She is Marissa's new work out accountability partner since moving back home. Rachel is a an award winning nurse and is furthering her studies to become a nurse practitioner.

Katie Scott - Bridesmaid

Another role model and built in lifetime best friend as Marissa's older sister. Katie is a newly wed as many of us know! She has set the bar quite high making many of their own centerpieces and decor. Katie lives in LA and works as a interior designer and is continuing on to become an architect.

Jennifer Scott - Bridesmaid

Another built in best friend, Marissa's little sister, Jenn, has followed her footsteps in becoming an Occupational Therapist. She recently graduated college, passed her boards, an is working with young kiddos!

Laura Shoemaker - Bridesmaid

Marissa's future Sister-in-law, Laura, is an Art Teacher and a creative genius in all that she does: photography, decorating, cooking, and more. She is a first time mother to baby Henry whom we adore.

Ashley Powell - Bridesmaid

Marissa's best college buddy Ashley, the master at planning and organization. She would most likely plan a good deal of this wedding if I asked because that who is, always caring and thinking of others. We swam together on Gannon's swim team and experienced many good times when we weren't studying. Ashley is a nurse and first time mother to baby Josie.

What time should I arrive to the Ceremony?

We ask that you arrive at St Benedict's Church at approximately 1:45 PM as the ceremony will start at 2:00 PM sharp!

What should I do in between the Ceremony and Reception?

Please take some time and relax! Also check out the Things to Do on this website. Note we will be providing a shuttle from the Holiday Inn Express in Dickson City that will be leaving around 4:30 PM to travel Stone Meadow Gardens.

Will there be a shuttle service?

If you book your stay at Holiday Inn Express and Suites Dickson City, PA there will be a shuttle service provided to and from the wedding reception. The shuttle will be leaving at around 4:30 PM to reach Stone Meadow Gardens at 5:00 PM and will be providing a return trip back to the hotel at the end of the reception.

Can I leave my car overnight at Stone Meadow Gardens?

Yes, you are allowed to leave your car overnight and we recommend if you're unable to drive back to the hotel. Note the shuttle will only be traveling to Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Dickson City, PA. Cars that are left overnight must be retrieved by 10:00AM on Sunday.

What is Garden Attire?

Semi-formal attire, please no Jeans Shorts or Polo's. Opt for breathable materials for outdoor comfort in pastel or floral patterns. There are beautiful gardens onsite at our venue- ladies may want to choose to wear heels/shoes that won't sink in the grass, so you may enjoy the gardens as well!

Will there be an after party?

Yes, there will be a gathering at Holiday Inn Express and Suites back patio. BYOB!
