August 11, 2013 was the first time Josh and Marissa met. Marissa was working for Giant Eagle and Josh was working for Coca-Cola. We talked as we went about our jobs and realized we had similar interests. Josh asked Marissa if she’d be interested in hanging out, which Marissa was excited about. After just a few days of spending time together, we decided on August 15, 2013 that we would be a couple.

The next few months were filled with dates, movie nights, car shows, and meeting friends and family. Josh switched jobs and Marissa graduated from college and got a job in her field. We spent the next few years learning everything about each other and discussed where we saw ourselves in the future.

After taking numerous vacations and fun trips together, Josh’s family decided that they were going to vacation in Hawaii the summer of 2016 and graciously invited Marissa to join them on the trip. We started our journey on the island of Oahu and traveled next to the island of Kauai. After seeing Kauai, Josh knew that was where he wanted to propose to Marissa. On the very last night in Kauai, before preparing to go to the “Big Island”, Josh asked Marissa to go for a walk around the resort. That was when Josh got down on one knee and asked Marissa to marry him in one of the most beautiful places in the world. We continued our journey to the “Big Island”, then on to Maui. Marissa enjoyed showing off her beautiful engagement ring to anyone she saw and taking lots and lots of pictures with it.

We have been engaged since July 25, 2016 and purchased our house in Butler on April 21, 2017. We are beyond excited to be able to get married on June 15, 2018.
