Alex and Marius first met on Halloween night in 2020 at a “lively” party in Chicago. Being mid-Covid, social interactions and dating opportunities were slim. Alex, always looking for an opportunity to dress up, went all out for her costume, spending the entire day picking out the perfect Cheetah print dress and painting spots all over her face and body. Upon arriving to the party, she was told of a cute Lithuanian guy that was supposed to come later that night. Alex was intrigued, but was mostly excited to spend time with her friends. By the time Marius arrived, fresh from work, the party was well underway.&nbsp;Alex was deep in conversation with her friends, but she couldn’t help herself from spying on him across the room. She thought Marius was both very attractive and aloof…. which was, based on her dating experience, a major red flag! Combined with the fact that he opted to not wear a costume, showing up in a simple red Adidas sweatshirt and jeans, Marius was immediately categorized as not husband material. She was surprised, however, later that night, when one of her friends whispered in her ear that Marius thought she was cute and wanted to talk with her. With the help of friends, they were strategically teamed up for a game of beer pong and sparks started to fly. Anyone who knows Marius and Alex knows how competitive they both are – so when they began to win game after game, their chemistry became undeniable. With each game that went by, they peeled back layers of each other’s worlds. Marius’s in law enforcement and Alex’s in actuarial consulting. As they laughed and competed, Marius shifted his charm into high gear. He was enchanted by how confident Alex was and admired the clear passion she had for her career. Alex was drawn to how manly yet emotionally intelligent Marius was. -&nbsp;A rare combination for sure! Their magnetism was the definition of “opposites attract”. By the end of the night, they were undefeated and Marius knew he wanted to take Alex out on a proper date. From the get go, Marius was clear with his intentions. Alex, however, was deeply focused on her demanding job, and didn’t always immediately respond to his texts, leaving him wondering if she felt the same way. Despite the delays, Alex eventually agreed to meet. Their first date took place at an intimate Italian bistro and ended with Alex teaching Marius how to make the perfect Old Fashioned. As they sipped their drinks and exchanged stories, the connection between them grew stronger. Little did Alex know, Marius found himself falling for her. After only a month of dating, Marius asked Alex to join him and his family for the traditional Lithuanian Christmas Eve festivities. Things were moving fast, but somehow it felt right. On a snowy night, just a month later, Marius asked Alex to be his girlfriend. With the gentle flurry of snow around them, they shared a kiss that marked the beginning of their journey together and has taken us to where we are today. If you are reading their story, you are mostly likely an important person in their life. Thank you for being part of it! If you are flying into Boston and do not want to rent a car, we recommend using "Peter Pan" buses to get to Woods Hole, where you can ferry across to The Island. The bus ride is about 1h45 and with station picks up from the airport or downtown Boston.

You can buy passenger and vehicle ferry tickets on the Woods Hole Transit Authority website. The ferry ride is 30-45 minutes with the option of arriving in Oak Bluffs or Vineyard Haven. If you plan take a car across on the ferry you will need to schedule a ticket for your car in advance. We recommend booking that ticket 4 months in advance (bookings for September open up in May). It may be easier to wait to get your car rental until you reach Martha's Vineyard. Passengers do not need to schedule their ticket purchase in advance if they don't have a car.
