Mark and Moriah originally met at youth group in Tomah. Mark knew Moriah's brother, Malachi, from church. When Moriah started attending youth group, Mark thought Malachi's little sister was cute. They got to know each other better by being involved on the worship team. During her senior year of high school, Moriah became even more fond of Mark. She tried to hint at her feelings (not very well) for Mark that following summer, but Mark was oblivious.

Moriah went to Platteville for her first year of college and her and Mark kept in touch while she was away. Through the silly questions Mark would ask Moriah (and the many cat memes), they grew in their friendship. During this time of friendship, Mark and Moriah got coffee, went to a concert with a friend, and continued to learn about each other.

Malachi informed Mark that Moriah had been waiting for Mark to make a move. Mark was surprised at this new information. He decided to ask Moriah out and meet her in Platteville for their first date. Both were nervous but had a great time. They had Mexican food and went for a walk. On their next date, Mark asked Moriah to officially be his girlfriend.

Over the next few months, it became obvious that God had set them apart for each other. They continued to learn about their many differences (Moriah is still skeptical about Mark's love for Star Wars) and similarities as well. After discussing their future, they realized they were ready to enjoy life's journey together.

Mark proposed to Moriah at Wildcat Mountain on December 10th, 2023 and Moriah said yes (obviously). Mark and Moriah are excited to prepare for a life of serving God together as husband and wife.
