Sara and Mark first met on the marina dock in San Diego, February of 2020. They spent the day sailing together, and since Mark had just moved to San Diego, Sara offered to show him around town the next day.

Their first date (which Sara didn't know was a date), included tacos for lunch, Italian for dinner, and ice cream in the rain.

A year after they first met, Sara moved onto the boat with Mark. They enjoyed many sailing outings with friends and family, anchoring around San Diego, and making the sixteen-hour trek to Catalina.

Two years after that, Sara and Mark pulled the trigger and upgraded to a two-bed, two-bath, Catalina 42 sailboat which they currently live on! The new boat has a full galley with an oven, which has been wonderful with Sara's passion for baking. There is even room for guests to stay - so come on down to San Diego if you want to sleep on the water and eat homemade pastries!

Mark proposed to Sara in April of 2023 by setting up a scavenger hunt, that involved riddles, plotting a course with latitudes and longitudes, and 55 roses. He got down on one knee, in the middle of the spring wildflower bloom at Sunset Cliffs, one of their favorite spots for a romantic evening walk.
