Our Story

“Lord, Please Fill My Frames..”

photo

Same as Mark, I have prayed for years and years for God to bless my life with someone hand picked by Him to spend my life with. So many prayers. So many tears.

Years ago, I started hanging empty frames on my walls and would pray over those empty frames often. Lord, please fill my frames! I only need You, but my heart desires what is not complete in me yet, I know You are orchestrating Your plans for me! I'd read Jeremiah 29:11 over, and over, painted it on the wall next to the empty frames as hope. And for years they stayed empty, but God. God kept me filled and refilled while He took precious time to work on my frames, my family! Hyker and then Mark, and now my frames are filling up with more family and friends to love as I enter into Mark's family and as he enters into mine!

Faith is hard. Especially in today's world. But (focus) we are not of this world, we are not on this world's schedule, we are on His. And I'm so grateful Mark and I prayed the same prayer for so long, let God lead us, and straight to each other! Our entire purpose in our relationship is to keep God first and honor Him always!

How We Met

Another reason we LOVE our small town!

The ladies that run Cohutta General Store sent me a message one day and asked that I call the store as soon as possible!! I was SURE Id won something, free food maybe, so I called right away!

Brooke, Iris, and Mandy were all on speakerphone, and they were SO excited to lay this out for me: Mark and Brooke went to school together, he had been by the store for lunch recently, and she had been trying to think of someone to set him up with. Well I had been in the store not too long after that telling Brooke how I just saw a girl being proposed to across the street at Red Wolfe Grill. I was a bit dramatic about how it was so sweet, made me cry, smile, pray, and throw up a little all at the same time. I believe that is exactly where God planted the seed!

Brooke had started thinking of me for Mark, she didnt really act on it right away, but SHE HAD A DREAM about us! She said she felt like it was God saying, Ok move this time! So of course I gave them my number to give to him saying, Well I don’t want to be the one getting in the way of Gods plans and all, so yes please have him call me!

And the rest just keeps getting better, and better, and better. Gods hand is in this and on us!! Not just a dream come true, but a lifelong prayer come true!!

Our First Date

photo

After our first phone conversation lasting over (4) hours!!, we decided we felt comfortable enough with each other, and Mark asked to pick me up for dinner the next night!

I’m not one to date until after a few weeks of talking and getting to know each other, but I felt the sweetest calm come over me, and I decided to say yes! ((Thankfully!!))

He was the sweetest gentleman. He opened doors, prayed over our meal, he shared his food with me, we walked for hours together downtown just enjoying each other’s company, and he kept me safe. I felt at ease in his presence!

My heart knew there were so many good things coming!

God's Plans

We are so grateful to God for His plans, His timing, His greater purpose for our little family!

We can both see and feel God has a mission for our relationship and new family of 3. We already had the privilege to witness and testify together as a couple which was one of my best moments with Mark.

We pray that the Lord uses us for His purpose and His glory, as we are ready, trusting, hoping in Him to lead us where we are needed as a family unit!

We are blessed and will never be able to thank our God enough for this wedding, this unity that He orchestrated!
