Mark and Liz met during the lonely days of the 2020 pandemic. A shared love of rum & cokes soon led to impromptu soccer sessions at dog parks in the middle of the night, nights in enjoying Liz’s now-legendary home cooking, and long, socially-distanced walks around Edgewater Park. Despite Mark’s fear that Liz would bring Covid home with her from the ICU, he felt the risk was worth taking to spend more time with his new gym buddy and Mario Kart challenger.

They were soon inseparable, and as the pandemic’s restrictions eased, Liz’s guacamole was being requested at nearly all of their upcoming social events. Mark’s friends and family openly wondered what this mature and charming young lady was doing with him, but, luckily, to this day she remains oblivious to how far out of his league she is.

A visit to Ohio by her India-based family in 2022 sealed the deal of their compatibility in Mark’s mind. Nearly all of their down time on a 10-day sightseeing road trip across the country was spent competing in cards and various board games, and during all of their arguing and rules-challenging he realized he had met someone who completely understood his maniacal competitiveness.

All of this led to a proposal in New York City just before the pair attended the 2023 US Open. Nearly everyone who heard the quickly-spreading news assured them they saw it coming, which Mark still thinks is an awful convenient thing to say for something that took so much planning. Nevertheless, the couple are very much in love and are very happy for you all to share in it at their upcoming wedding.
