Simone and I.
We met through a dating app, Hinge to be precise. From the moment we began talking, it felt like instantaneous mutual affection towards each other. We probably hit the heart button at the same time lol. After many conversations and multiple affirmations of my strong affections towards Simone, we went on a date to Roosevelt Field Mall (or more of a pre-date).
Simone is big on wineries, and that's where our first date was supposed to take place. However, those who know me pre-Simone know damn well I did not have the attire for that, hence the trip to the Mall. So I see her from my car and my eyes light up because she was everything she said she was and more (dating apps are a gamble). She looked stunning in her church dress. We hugged, talked and tried on clothes. The entire time I was trying to exude this level of confidence because I wanted her to like me so bad, so I guess you could say I was on one lml.
After the Mall, we went to a burger joint. This is where my front started to crumble. Yes, I was looking confident, but my hands were lowkey sweating and my stomach was in knots. I ordered a burger that I couldn’t even eat. Yea, that’s pretty much how we met (from my perspective lml).
Mark and I.
“How strong is your anime game?” That’s how I shot my shot with Mark Remy. If you ask him, he will say he made the first move, but that’s an alternative fact. Mark and I met on Hinge. Our first date took place in Old Westbury because he inserted himself into my plans. “Where you gonna be today?” he asked. “I have a lot of errands to run before my vacation, so mostly in Long Island” I responded. “Aight I can meet you” Mark said. "But who invited you?" I thought. In all honesty I wanted to meet him too, we’d put it off long enough.
He pulled up in his shades, window down and music blasting. I thought to myself, “these Long Island boys are so corny”. He hugged me and immediately began the conversation, like we were two friends who had met countless times before. He didn’t rush me around the store, or complain about how long I was taking. Instead, he engaged with me about the things I picked up and even enlisted my help in finding things for himself.
We ended the “date” at a burger spot and he immediately sought to make plans for our next date. As cliché as it sounds, the rest is history.
We are excited to begin our future together and we hope that you all can join us in celebrating our love for each other.
