Our story started back in September 2013 (yes almost a decade ago) in strength class at Wayzata High School. Maddie switched into the class late to join with a friend and since both of us were on the hockey team our mutual friends connected us and similar interests started the conversations. Being competitive and sports people our first dates consisted of going to hockey games and any activity we could challenge each other in. We enjoyed wild games together, soccer in the backyard, tennis matches, and one on one on the pond to name a few. Before we knew it we were graduating from high school and off in separate directions. Mark went to play Junior hockey in the USHL in Des Moines/Fargo and Maddie went to college at Michigan State. Although doing long distance isnt always easy it helped us grow as individuals and our relationship continued to grow together.

After Maddie graduated college in March 2020, Mark asked Maddie to marry him the following year on June 26th, 2021. Mark is currently at UND playing hockey while Maddie is working hybrid at Medtronic. We are both enjoying more time together and creating new memories. A few of our current favorite hobbies include finding new breweries to try, days spent at the lake with friends or family, taking our dog Bruce on a walk to play fetch, and hockey games of course :) We are very excited for our next adventure and look forward to celebrating the start of the rest of our lives with you!
