Yes, Mark and Treva were high school sweethearts throughout their Sophomore/Junior year. The pictures here are from Denver’s John F. Kennedy High School, including Mark’s soccer team, Treva’s gymnastics team, and Homecoming in 1984.

Breaking up was hard to do, but they went their separate ways. Mark went to CSU and Treva went to CU Boulder. From there, life took them in different directions and they each started their own families.

After many life changes for them both, they reconnected on Facebook. With Treva in Virginia and Mark in Colorado, they began corresponding through Facebook and phone calls. After a month, Mark decided to fly out to Virginia and visit Treva for the first time in over 30 years. Eventually, they would fly back and forth to see each other and quickly fell in love...again. While Treva had always planned to move back to Colorado, Mark would have to wait. Determined to pursue the career she sought after graduating from college, she needed to complete her Physical Therapist Assistant program. After 2 years, Treva graduated her program Summa Cum Laude (she has a plaque) and passed her National Board Exam to become licensed as a PTA. She FINALLY was ready to move back to Colorado.
On September 28, 2024, they went hiking to Continental Falls near Breckenridge, Colorado. A charcuterie and wine picnic was planned and Mark proposed nearby, in front of a small Colorado waterfall. She said yes!
Because of their love of the mountains and its proximity to the original proposal spot, they chose to have an outdoor wedding at Windy Point on Dillon Reservoir.
