Mark and Victoria first met January 2019, at the University of Nebraska. As part of Air Force ROTC, Victoria had signed up for Pershing Rifles where Mark was the commander of the company. After a couple of months of getting to know each other, they realized they wanted to be more than friends. The couple's first date was just after Thanksgiving, 2019, at Hiro 88. The first months of dating were incredible, both excited to meet each other's friends and family.
Soon after Mark and Victoria had to endure multiple extended periods apart. Starting with the pandemic closing UNL, sending Victoria back to Kansas City, Missouri and Mark to Omaha, Nebraska. This first trial was challenging, but they realized the time they spent together was precious and they valued every FaceTime call they were able to share together. After Victoria was able to move back to Nebraska she decided to enlist into the Air Force. Mark had just graduated and had a full time job as a mechanical engineer. Mark fully supported her goals and she wanted to make sure this big decision was able to fit with his dreams too. A year later Victoria left for basic training and tech school starting March 22, 2021. During basic, Mark wrote Victoria a letter each night, for a total of 60+ letters. The first phone call they shared after was full of tears, love, and happiness. While Victoria was in Tech School, Mark flew to California and proposed on June 18, 2021, on a beach at Vandenberg AFB. That weekend they celebrated by exploring the city of Santa Barbara. Victoria was then sent to Minot AFB, ND. They were able to spend time together with occasional trips back and forth between the two. Excited to share the rest of their lives together, Mark will move up north in May 2022. The majority of their marriage prep and planning has been done on FaceTime and lots of help from their family and friends. They are both extremely grateful to the people who have helped make June 10, 2022 a very special day!
