How crazy is it that were getting married?! If you knew Markell and me in high school, youd know we were friends. We had a hallway handshake and threw together in track. He was the loud, funny guy and I was the quiet, friendly girl. Covid happened Markells senior year/my sophomore year, and our friendship fizzled out as we went on different life paths. It wasnt until my freshman year of college I went to this college worship event called Unity Nights. Colleges from all over the area come and have a night of worship. I went with my friends on the Friday night not knowing what would happen. Markell had work that night, but someone invited him to come anyway. Despite working, he showed up late sneaking into the back. As the worship ended, I went to grab my waterbottle from the back wall. And who do I see?? Markell! We chat and caught up, to find out that he is at Ivy Tech in Muncie and planning to go to Ball State. We leave and I text him (yep I made the first move thank you very much) letting him know how nice it was to see him again. A couple days later he asks me to go to a dance with him, how bold right! We hung out a lot, watched Real Steel (my fav movie) a couple times, took a trip to Tennessee, and Im realizing this man just might be my person all before we started officially dating. Ew cringe I know. But the love we have for one another is actually unfathomable to me. How lucky are we to find our best friend for life. Thats our story, and its just beginning!
