Clayton and Marla both grew up in Venice and unknowingly crossed paths many times over the years. Both went to the same archeology summer camp as children and toured Washington DC on the same 8th grade field trip! Once in high school they became friends.

They kept in touch over the years but it wasn't until the summer of 2020 that they reconnected at Friday sunsets at the beach with friends - a regular tradition for them now.

Soon after that they began dating and the rest is history!
