If you are making a trip out of our celebration, there is a lot to be seen in the area! Here are some of our favorite recommendations for exploring and relaxing.
One of the coolest wild hot springs we have explored! Just between Challis and Salmon - near mile marker 282 on Highway 93. There is a little hike before you are rewarded with awesome hot pools!
If this is your first time in the area, explore the Salmon River and bring your fishing gear.
Stop by The Bent Rod in town for all your fishing needs.

If you are looking for a little relaxation over the weekend, enjoy a soak! Challis Hot Springs is where Marlae learned to swim as a child and it was always a fun place to gather growing up.
The town of Bayhorse is a short drive from Challis if you are looking for some more history. After exploring the town you can visit Bayhorse Lake or Little Bayhorse Lake for some more fishing or exploring.
For some more ghost towns and history, you can travel farther to Custer and Bonanza and see the Yankee Fork Gold Dredge.
These are all places that carry fond memories throughout Marlae's childhood.
