Dan and I met during our third-year medical school rotations in Atlanta, GA. Although we crossed paths a few times on the island of Dominica, where we went to medical school, we did not interact much. We had a few mutual friends, while living in Atlanta, which is how we were introduced. After a few months of living there we formed a solid group of friends that we studied and spent time with on a weekly basis. To be honest, we did not become fast friends. Dan seemed timid (he denies this), and he was tough to read so I did not know what he was thinking half of the time. Funny enough, he will say the same thing about me if you ask him (except for the timid part). But the more time we spent together, the more he unwound and the more I got to know the wonderful man inside. We eventually parted ways after our time in Atlanta to continue our medical school journey.…or so I thought. I ended up moving to Chicago, IL and Dan moved to Detroit, MI for a brief period of time. After a week or so of radio silence after leaving Atlanta, I received a text message from Dan that said....Hi. And the rest is history!
Our time in Atlanta was brief but one for the books. Not only did we find each other during our time there but we formed a close-knit group of friends who have now become family. I love you with all my heart and I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you.
We are beyond excited to be able to share our special day with you!
