Our Story

May 01, 2021

Our story starts at the Saturday night of Smoky Mountain Winterfest 2021. I was at the altar praying and I noticed a girl looking my way. As our groups were rounding up in front of the stage I couldn't stop looking her way. As our groups were leaving we passed each other and I mustered up the strength to say hey and I got her Instagram. We texted for about a month or two but the distance (8 hours) made it impossible anything to work out. - Groom

Reconnecting after almost 3 years

It was March 3, 2024, the very last day of Smoky Mountain Winterfest and I finally mustered the strength to talk to her. We had a brief 5 minute conversation. We talked about pickleball and how God had been working in our lives the past 3 years. I got her number and she told me if I was ever in the Huntsville area to let her know... - Groom

March 29, 2024

I planned to go visit my friend Colby in Cleveland, Tn, I needed an excuse to be 2 hours closer to Huntsville. I went to Huntsville and had the best day with the cutest girl in the world. We met at her church's parking and drove to a coffee shop. I was sweating and so nervous, but I soon calmed down and we joked and laughed a lot. We walked around Bridge Street and ended the day with Sushi. We took the photo and I sent it to 2 group-chats with friends and I told everyone I'd found my wife..... - Groom

Officially Official

April 19,2024

I picked her up at her house. She came out with a new haircut and looked so cute! We went to Big Spring Park and walked around. We had plans to meet her parents at Texas Roadhouse (praise God for rolls and Cinnamon Butter), this was my first time meeting her family. It was a great time and we drove around after and I asked her to be my girlfriend! We unfortunately didn't take any pictures this day 😔 - Groom

We met up in Chattanooga and went to the Tennessee Aquarium, she wanted to celebrate my birthday, because we wouldn't be able to see each other on my birthday. She gifted me the shoes I'm wearing and a new wallet!! - Groom

Josie comes to Clayton for the first time!

Josie spent a weekend in Clayton! It was spent full of shopping, eating, worship, swimming at the lake and renovating! We ended at Black Rock Mountain State Park and took some pictures. - Groom

July 04, 2024

I spent Fourth of July weekend with her in Huntsville and met the rest of her family. We went to the movies twice that weekend! - Groom

Josie works Middle School camp!

Josie came and worked Middle School Church Camp! We had the best week ever and she did an awesome job with the group! Her tribe came in third for the Spirit competition for the week, meanwhile mine came in fourth. That week I saw how great we'd work together and how big her heart is for the next generation - Groom

Josie and I go visit my family

Josie and I traveled to my hometown of Conway, SC to visit my family. We spent time shopping at the outlets and went out to eat with my family and friends! We also traveled to Burlington, NC to visit my dad's side of the family, we sure did a lot of driving! My family loved meeting her! We also attended my home church and got to meet everyone I grew up with!

The Engagement

On September 19, 2024 I asked Josie to marry me! She has been worth every mile travelled and every hour of sleep lost on FaceTime! I prayed for the girl of my dreams and I now am blessed to call her mine! I love you Josie Blair Stevenson! - Groom
