Skyler and Marquis met online when Marquis was overseas living in Spain and playing for a soccer team in Gibraltar. Despite the distance, falling in love was easier than it had ever been for both of them. Marquis always says he knew he was going to marry Skyler from the first photo he ever saw of her. They would spend many nights in FaceTime. Both losing sleep just to talk to one another. They’d do everything on FaceTime. Work, play video games, sleep. Then finally, April 27th, 2023, Marquis arrived home from Spain and they agreed to see each other immediately. It was everything they’d ever hoped for and dreamed of. It might seem simple that all they did was take a drive around the city and talk, but that was as perfect as it could get in their eyes. They were just thankful to be with each other. That same night, Marquis made things official by asking Skyler to be his girlfriend. Fast forward to present day, they are engaged, have a beautiful baby boy named Miles who brings them endless joy, and hundreds reminders of what it truly is to be loved unconditionally.
