Our Wedding

We met during the fall semester of our freshman year at Boston College, just before winter break. At the time, we were just finding our way - learning who we wanted to be and how we wanted to spend our college years. It's amazing to reflect at those early days when we spent so much time in each other's company without knowing how important we would become to one another. We went on many adventures together in college - swimming in the res, midnight hikes in the Whites, tailgating football games, and so much more. All of these experiences shared together were enhanced by amazing friends and people who have supported us throughout our journey together thus far. After college, Laura went to med school at University of Illinois, and Marshall went to graduate school at Tufts in Boston. We saw less of each other for a few years, but came back into each others' lives in the fall of 2019 when Laura was coming to Boston to visit friends on the weekends. We started dating on January 3, 2020 when Marshall flew out to Chicago to be Laura's date at a med school gala. We dated long distance for a few months, both living our busy lives in separate cities when, in early March, Covid and the subsequent shutdowns began. It is odd that such a hard time in the lives of many was a blessing in disguise for the two of us. We were both doing schoolwork remotely from home, and so had the opportunity to spend secluded weeks together in Chicago and Boston. These were special times for the two of us, as we were able to share space and time and learn about one another when it would have been difficult to do so in our normal, hectic lives outside of Covid lockdowns. After dating long-distance for a few years during Covid, Laura was accepted to the Tufts Medical School Orthopedic Surgery Residency program. We moved in together in June of 2022 in the South End and started to integrate our lives. Like in college, these years have been marked by incredible memories and special people that we have been so lucky to share and spend time with. Marshall proposed to Laura on September 30, 2023, and, after a decade of growing and learning with one another, we started our marriage journey together. We are so excited to share this special wedding night with all of our friends and family and want to thank all of you, from the bottom of our hearts, for the love and happiness you have filled our lives with.

InterContinental Boston, an IHG Hotel

Shuttles will be provided to/from the Intercontinental hotel on Saturday for the wedding and will depart around 4:30 PM. Return shuttles will depart the venue at 9:30, 10:00 and 11:30 PM. Friday welcome drinks are accessible on foot from the hotel. We recommend utilizing ride share (Uber, Lyft) or taxis for travel to/from the airport. The hotel is also a 5 minute walk from South Station, if arriving by bus or train. Unless planning to travel outside of the city, a rental car would not be necessary.

Directions:&nbsp;If using a GPS to get to the wedding, the address is 900 Washington Street in Wellesley, MA 02482. When you arrive on the property and drive over the historic bridge, you will see The Garden at Elm Bank Event signs directing you. You’ll want to drive past the soccer fields as well as lots A and B. At the stop sign, please turn left and enter The Garden at Elm Bank parking lot on the left. After parking, walk toward the gatehouse and main gates. You will be directed to the ceremony space which is about a 3-4 minute walk from the parking lot. There is a golf cart for anyone who might need assistance!
