Where will the wedding take place?
The wedding ceremony and reception will take place at Martene's family's home in Cobble Hill, located a 45 to 60-minute drive away from Victoria.
A Sunday wedding?
Yes! Since it is BC Day long weekend, we opted for a Sunday wedding to enable guests from out of town to travel to the area on Saturday and travel home on Monday.
Where should we stay?
There are several accommodations in the Cobble Hill area - some suggestions are included in the Travel section.
For adventurous guests who enjoy camping, there is space on the property to put up tents.
What is the dress code?
The dress code is garden party chic. There will be grass, so those wearing heels may want to wear a block heel.
Is there parking available at the venue?
Yes, there is plenty of parking on Campbell Road and cars can be left overnight if needed.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
The wedding will be fully outdoors. We will have some tents for cover and shade. You may wish to bring a sweater in case it cools down in the evening.
Can we bring children?
We have chosen to make this special day adults only. Babies are welcome.
Will transportation be provided?
We are arranging a shuttle to take guests who live or are staying in the Cowichan Valley to their home or accommodation between 10pm and 1am. If you need to leave earlier, Cobble Hill Taxi can be booked by calling 250-743-5555. Guests are welcome to pick up their vehicles the morning after the wedding.
If you will be driving back to Victoria or elsewhere on the island after the wedding, please have a designated driver to ensure a safe ride home.
What's the bar situation?
There will be an open bar with a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.
