Our Wedding

How It All Began It all started on Hinge—because what modern love story doesn’t? Martina swiped on Jacob, and then… crickets. A full month later, Jacob finally swooped in with his clever one-liner: “Since you swiped on me, I guess it’s my turn to ask you out on a date.” Smooth, right? Fast forward to September 30, 2021, in Austin, TX—Martina’s new stomping grounds. They met at Zilker Brewery, and let’s just say, first impressions did not disappoint. Martina thought Jacob was cute (and shockingly as tall as advertised at 6’4”), while Jacob simply thought Martina was hot. The Dating Chapter Initially, the two decided to keep things platonic—just friends. But Jacob had other plans. After some "friend" hangouts that looked suspiciously like dates, Jacob realized Martina was&nbsp;the one&nbsp;and they made things official. Two moments stood out as game-changers in their journey: Martina’s 29th birthday, where Jacob passed the ultimate "friends test" with flying colors, and a big family gathering for Jacob’s brother’s birthday, where Martina ventured out of her comfort zone and won over the whole crew. From there, their bond grew stronger with shared traditions like grabbing kolaches and hitting Butler Pitch and Putt, attending Austin’s Food and Wine Festival, and watching endless episodes of&nbsp;90 Day Fiancé&nbsp;and&nbsp;Survivor.&nbsp;They also established the all-important “relationship temperature checks” over Hopdoddy’s Happy Hour. The Proposal Jacob popped the big question in Cancun, at the resort where they’d had their first international trip together. Over Thanksgiving last year, he whisked Martina off to a picturesque gazebo for a private dinner setup and an unforgettable proposal. Martina had a hunch something was up—Jacob had been acting extra nervous (and had mentioned his proposal plans for 2024). To make things even more chaotic, a water leak in their hotel room right before dinner led to a last-minute room swap, sending Jacob’s nerves into overdrive. But in the end, everything was perfect—and Martina said “yes!” Life Together Now, Martina and Jacob are building a beautiful life together with big dreams of starting their own family and someday owning a beachside vacation property. They’ve already tackled major milestones, like buying their first home with their “first child,” Binta, the world’s most lovable (and gassiest) dog. What Jacob loves most about Martina is her kind heart, while Martina adores Jacob’s patience and those dreamy blue eyes. Together, they make the perfect team—whether watching&nbsp;Law Abiding Citizen&nbsp;for the 10th time, planning their next trip to Mexico, or enjoying Martina’s very organized “Salon de Martina” spa days. Fun Facts Jacob and Mr. Binta share an impressive talent for breaking wind, while Martina channels her inner spreadsheet queen, organizing&nbsp;everything&nbsp;(from finances to Austin activities) in Google Sheets. Life is never dull with these two—and they wouldn’t have it any other way.

This is the bride's youngest sister, so she's here by default -- just kidding. Despite the 9 year age gap, they share a tight bond and it's an honor to have her as my right hand (wo)man

Nihya

This is the bride's oldest and bestest friend, they met back in Stockton California at the ripe age of 14 in our high school science class. They spent their senior year predicting who where our class would be in 5 years and who would marry who so I'm glad that 14 years later, she will be standing by my side to bring those childhood jokes to fruition. 

Cilicia

This is the bride's middle sister who keeps her on her toes and shares the talent of bringing life to the party -- and also keep everyone on the dance floor. 

Bethany

The bride met Lyle shortly after joining Alpha Phi, and to her surprise was randomly matched with her making them big/little. Though complete opposites, these two were an actual match made in heaven. Lyle has been a sound of reason and major support system through many of the major milestones that led to the bride being who she is today.

Lyle

The bride met Erica while attending SFSU, she rushed Alpha Phi and Martina instantly fell in love and they became big and little. Their bond over the SF Giants, love for tequila and country music has kept their friendship alive over the years and a lifetime to go!

This is the groom's eldest brother. He has always been there to coach and mentor his little brother, literally he was an assistant coach for the groom's grade school football team. Joel always has advice to give and a heart of gold.

Joel Jr.

This is one of the groom's best friends. They go way back having met their freshman year of high school. They were class clowns and also worked every summer together. The groom became roommates with him in Charleston and they lived together for four years. 

Julian

This is the groom's older brother. He keeps the family bond together by always planning family dinner/ game nights. Josh was the first to advise that Martina would make a great addition to the family. 

Josh

This is one of the groom's best friends, they met cooking in South Carolina and were attached to the hip ever since -- he even made the move to Austin, TX for a few years before starting his own little family. Their shared love for cheffing it up in the kitchen, comedy shows and constant adventure will keep them brothers for life.

The groom met Gene while working a traveling food vending job, they worked festivals together such as Bonnaroo and Electric Forrest. They created a tight bond through their love of music and shows. Gene is the grooms brother from another mother.

Jaime met the bride in college due to greek life, they both were frat stars which in turn led them to sharing a little bro together. Their friendship has continued over the years because of the many laughs, bar hopping, and very blatant honesty which can't keep these two fools apart -- plus once he met the groom, they also developed quite the bromance.

Jaime

The bride met this funny man in college and once again was because of greek life, they hit it off so quickly that he ended up becoming her big bro. He kept her under his wing and protection (as much as she may or may not have appreciated it) and truly became the older brother she never had. No other person she would trust with the honor and trust of handling thee rings.

Our wedding venue is an all inclusive hotel so no need to stress about what to eat, where to sleep or $15 a drink prices -- we've got you covered! With that being said, we do have a room block that gives you discounted room prices so please please please make sure to only book through the link on this page. The following information is extremely important so read thoroughly: We have aligned on a Group Room Rate which payment will be collected 30 days prior (October 28th, 2025) to the arrival date. This same credit card must be presented during the check-in process. Another bonus is that as guests of the wedding, these discounted prices are valid 3 days prior and 3 days after the allotted wedding time (Nov 24 - Dec 2) so come early to get the party started or extend for your own mini vacay!
