What is the weather in Colorado like in September?

Please note that the reception is entirely OUTDOORS. There are a few important ways to prepare. Colorado in September is absolutely gorgeous, but once the sun goes down it will get fairly cold. Plan to bring a light/medium layer or multiple layers to stay comfortable in the later evening. Other items that may be helpful include sunglasses, sunscreen depending on the weather, and a waterbottle, although water will be provided throughout the cocktail hour and reception, there is a place to fill water if you prefer to carry your own. Again, Colorado is very high elevation so drinking LOTS of water is necessary.

What is the dress code?

The dress code for the wedding is semi-formal. The wedding ceremony will be in a Catholic Church, so please dress respectfully for that. The reception will be at an outdoor barn. Please consider an extra pair of shoes, preferably tennis shoes or other durable outdoor shoes, as most of the venue is on gravel and various uneven surfaces. You may consider this in selecting formal shoes for the day if you wish to wear the same pair for the mass and reception.

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Dinner at the reception will be a buffet style barbeque which includes pulled pork and smoked chicken. If you have a gluten and/or dairy restriction, then you should be able to eat the main course and some of the sides. If you have any other concerns about your specific dietary restriction, please contact either Clare or Marty and they can help to accommodate for dinner.

What should I do for lunch after the ceremony?

The wedding Mass is at 11 am, so there will be some time after the ceremony before the reception begins. Make sure to grab some lunch during that time! The location of the reception is about 40 minutes south of the church, so be sure to allot enough time. There are lots of restaurants and breweries on the way to the reception if you need something to do or a place to eat. The cocktail hour will start at 3:30 pm if you would like to join for drinks and appetizers. Please arrive by 4:30 pm at the latest which is when we will begin dinner and the rest of the festivities!

Can I bring a plus one?

We wish we could accommodate more guests, but we are not able to due to the nature of the venue. If you have any questions about this, please reach out to Marty or Clare.
