No matter what, we recommend you get "The Book of Steves," as we like to call it!
It is packed with helpful information for each city (like how to get around, how much things cost), and his recommendations (for things to do, hotels, restaurants, & more) are on point!
DIY
Do everything yourself, we recommend using Rick Steves as your guide! ricksteves.com/europe/italy/itinerary
Pro Tip: Pack everything in a big backpack - makes it easier to get around train stations and ancient cobblestone roads.
Don't forget to download our favorite apps to help you get around (see below).
GET HELP WITH YOUR ITINERARY
Have someone help you plan your itinerary, make recommendations, and help make arrangements/reservations for you. (Pro tip: we still highly recommend traveling light and packing everything in a large backpack, and don't forget Uncle Rick). There are plenty of companies that do this and they can range in the services they offer, here are some that we have heard good things about:
1. [coming soon]
2. [coming soon]
3. [coming soon]
WHITE GLOVE SERVICE
Use a tour company to plan and book everything for you. The costs usually includes all planning services, hotels, transportation, tickets for sight seeing, and guided tours. This is a great option if you might have trouble getting on and off trains or have never been to Europe. This is also a good option if you plan on packing large checked roller bag luggage. The tours usually will take you by bus from each destination, help with luggage, and pick you up and drop you right in front of your hotel. If you choose this option, we recommend doing it before or after the wedding, as they follow a strict itinerary. Here are a few that we have heard good things about:
1. Rick Steves Tours (cost range between $2,395 - $6,445 + Air per person)
2. Tauck (starting at $4,390 + Air per person)
3. Gate 1 Travel (starting at $1,899 + Air per person)
Download these before your trip!
