Mary and Tom met at the College of William & Mary in 2008. They shared an interest in Model United Nations -- Tom was president of the club, and good at it, and Mary really enjoyed how the group traveled.

After going out of his way to pick her up from the airport back to school, Tom asked Mary to attend his fraternity's date party. She liked that, so she said yes. They parted ways but thought of each other often.

In 2009, Mary and Tom reconnected after he graduated and moved to New York City. They visited each other several times and were happy to re-discover mutual feelings. But Mary soon left for Jordan to study abroad. During that time, they talked regularly. Their schedules seemed to match, even with Mary six hours ahead and Tom working long hours. Mary took a summer internship in Germany, so Tom immediately booked a trip to Europe. In Paris, under the sparkling lights of the Eiffel Tower in summer, Tom asked Mary to be his girlfriend. She liked that, so she said yes.

Following two years of long distance as Mary finished school and worked in Washington, D.C., they landed in the same city in 2012. Tom and Mary started a volleyball team, attended countless concerts, and adopted a rescue dog named Chloe.

In 2016, Tom proposed to Mary on Governor's Island in a special location. She liked that, so she said yes.

They cannot wait to continue building a life together full of happiness with their friends and family!
