Mary and David didn't believe in love at first sight. However, when David met Mary, he knew he wanted to protect her. Mary felt safe with David. Both of them respected the other and they made each other laugh.
Those may not seem like big things, but they were the foundation of a great friendship. Through long hours on sets and editing footage, they learned that they both had a deep love for old comedies: Red Skelton, Abbott and Costello, and similar comedians. They enjoyed eclectic hole-in-the-wall restaurants. And, for anyone who knows them at all, they are both fueled by copious amounts of coffee.
For years, they have been each other's sounding boards, readers for auditions, and support through disappointments and hard situations. When Mary rolled her car in August of 2022, David was willing to drive hours away to be at the hospital with her and even helped her on set a few days later. The kindness and compassion he showed her that week is what started to win her heart.
David watched Mary start not one but several jobs in 2023 and looked for every opportunity to help whenever he could. He even took a job at the mall to work near her and bring her coffee and food. He realized that he looked forward to work just so he could see Mary.
Their story is more complicated than any Hallmark movie could ever depict. The outcome is the same, though. Man meets woman, man and woman spend time together and see the amazing qualities in each other, man and woman know the future isn't the future without each other.
Mark 10:9 "Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate."
