We met in high school — young, awkward, and slightly terrified of our own feelings. We liked each other, but instead of doing anything about it, we decided to be friends. (Because, you know, logic.) We went to junior homecoming together, which felt like a date-but-not-a-date. It was sweet, innocent, and maybe a little confusing — like most high school things are. After that, we stayed close, but we never crossed that friendship line. Timing just wasn’t on our side yet. Fast forward a few years. Mary Catherine was in college, probably still pretending she didn’t have a crush on him (spoiler: she absolutely did). In November 2021, Mary Catherine asked him to be her date to her sorority’s semi-formal. Bold move? Maybe. But she figured, hey — what’s the worst that could happen? Well, the worst didn’t happen. But nothing happened... for a month (yes, a full month — he likes to keep things dramatic). Then, finally, Nick asked her out to see Spider-Man. Very romantic — just MC, Nick, Peter Parker, and popcorn. But somehow, that movie night turned into something more. We laughed. We clicked. And after all that time, we finally found the right moment. The sparks were still there — maybe stronger than ever. On February 5th, 2022, we made it official. No big fireworks, no dramatic confessions — just two people who had been orbiting each other for years finally saying, “Okay... let’s do this.” Since then, we’ve become each other’s best friend and favorite person. It’s become a love that is patient, kind, and supportive. We never stop laughing together and we continue to choose each other — over and over again. Flash forward about 3 years on April 27th, 2025, while feeding turtles at the park, Nick FINALLY asked Mary Catherine to marry him. It was sweet, simple, and completely us — just the way we’ve always done things. Ours is a story of a love that waited patiently in the background, quietly cheering us on until we were ready to call it what it was all along. And once we did, it felt like the most natural thing in the world.
