Our Wedding

We&nbsp;believe&nbsp;in&nbsp;God&nbsp;directing&nbsp;the&nbsp;course&nbsp;of&nbsp;our&nbsp;lives,&nbsp;so&nbsp;we&nbsp;also&nbsp;know&nbsp;that&nbsp;only&nbsp;God&nbsp;could&nbsp;take&nbsp;2&nbsp;hearts&nbsp;and&nbsp;bring&nbsp;them&nbsp;together.&nbsp;Both&nbsp;of&nbsp;us&nbsp;were&nbsp;no&nbsp;strangers&nbsp;to&nbsp;online&nbsp;dating,&nbsp;but&nbsp;this&nbsp;miracle&nbsp;had&nbsp;Jesus&nbsp;written&nbsp;all&nbsp;over&nbsp;it.&nbsp;For&nbsp;us,&nbsp;it&nbsp;started&nbsp;when&nbsp;Johnny&nbsp;sent&nbsp;a&nbsp;response&nbsp;to&nbsp;Mary&nbsp;on&nbsp;Christianmingle.com.&nbsp;&nbsp;on&nbsp;12-2-2023.&nbsp;He&nbsp;sent&nbsp;her&nbsp;a&nbsp;smile,&nbsp;followed&nbsp;by&nbsp;a&nbsp;sweet&nbsp;message&nbsp;that&nbsp;read... "Hi&nbsp;Mary.&nbsp;Hope&nbsp;you're&nbsp;doing&nbsp;well.&nbsp;I&nbsp;like&nbsp;your&nbsp;smile&nbsp;and&nbsp;your&nbsp;profile.&nbsp;I'm&nbsp;glad&nbsp;to&nbsp;hear&nbsp;you're&nbsp;a&nbsp;worship&nbsp;leader.&nbsp;It's&nbsp;so&nbsp;awesome.&nbsp;I'm&nbsp;glad&nbsp;we&nbsp;share&nbsp;a&nbsp;strong&nbsp;faith&nbsp;in&nbsp;God.&nbsp;I&nbsp;am&nbsp;a&nbsp;retired&nbsp;high&nbsp;school&nbsp;woodwork&nbsp;teacher.&nbsp;Like&nbsp;to&nbsp;chat&nbsp;sometime.:)&nbsp;John. Because&nbsp;Mary&nbsp;was&nbsp;not&nbsp;a&nbsp;full&nbsp;member&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;site,&nbsp;it&nbsp;would&nbsp;be&nbsp;a&nbsp;little&nbsp;more&nbsp;than&nbsp;a&nbsp;month&nbsp;before&nbsp;a&nbsp;response&nbsp;was&nbsp;given.&nbsp;She&nbsp;wrote... "Hello&nbsp;John.&nbsp;Nice&nbsp;to&nbsp;meet&nbsp;you.&nbsp;" From&nbsp;that&nbsp;one&nbsp;interaction,&nbsp;we both&nbsp;started&nbsp;a&nbsp;journey&nbsp;of&nbsp;getting&nbsp;to&nbsp;know&nbsp;one&nbsp;another&nbsp;by&nbsp;texting&nbsp;each&nbsp;other&nbsp;daily&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;website,&nbsp;which&nbsp;eventually&nbsp;led&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;exchange&nbsp;of&nbsp;phone&nbsp;numbers&nbsp;where&nbsp;we were&nbsp;able&nbsp;to&nbsp;hear&nbsp;each&nbsp;other's&nbsp;voices&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;first&nbsp;time. Since&nbsp;we&nbsp;both&nbsp;believe&nbsp;in&nbsp;God's&nbsp;confirming&nbsp;word&nbsp;over&nbsp;our&nbsp;lives,&nbsp;it's&nbsp;awesome&nbsp;to&nbsp;see&nbsp;His&nbsp;hand&nbsp;at&nbsp;work&nbsp;in&nbsp;how&nbsp;we&nbsp;came&nbsp;together,&nbsp;and&nbsp;how&nbsp;much&nbsp;He&nbsp;revealed&nbsp;to&nbsp;us&nbsp;before&nbsp;we&nbsp;even&nbsp;knew&nbsp;each&nbsp;other.

I met Dana and his beautiful wife Cheryle while working at the Walmart Vision Center. Holy Spirit had laid it on Dana's heart to reach out to me and invite me to church. At the time I was going to another wonderful church and had no plans of leaving them. But upon the first time I entered the church called "Gateway Church of Sequim", which was at the time being held at the Second Hand Thrift Store, Holy Spirit clearly spoke to me and simply said "This Is Home". I felt like I had breathed for the first time in a very long time. Over time God has merged me into a wonderful Christian Family at Gateway, who have changed my life and will be in my heart, "forever". 

Dana is the Senior Adviser of Gateway Church of Sequim and has been Mary's pastor for the last 6 years. He is known for his clear understanding and love of God's word and his undeniable love of people. Through God, Dana and Cheryle are changing the "heart" of our community.

Deb and I have sung in a couple of bands. One is a band called "Just In Time" and the other is "Cool Jam and the Marmalades".  We are also on the Worship Team at Gateway Community Church where Deb is in training to be the next Worship Leader. Besides being band mates, we are very good friends and close like sisters. Deb is an amazing person with such a beautiful and caring heart that I have grown to love and appreciate over the years. Along with my sister Shannon, and Angie, I couldn't see this day without Deb being a part of it.

I love the heart of Angie. We have grown as sisters and God has given us a heart for each other. I love the times she's come along side me because she felt that "special nudge" from Holy Spirit and my heart was always the better through a kind word she's spoken to me, or she's given me a special embrace that only God could have revealed that I needed in some difficult times of my life. Angie is an intercessor by nature, and a ministry force with her husband David both at Gateway and wherever the Lord leads them. They truly are changing our world and making it a better place to live in. I love the "Jesus" in her, and so glad to have her as a part of our special day.

David (the husband of Angie) is an amazing person in so many capacities. He's a man who passionately cares for lives of others. He is a business owner, and on the ministry team at Gateway Church of Sequim. To hear David declare the word of God is to know that his walk with God goes beyond casual. The insight he brings to the table through the unveiling of God's word and life in general touches the hearts of all who know him. 

So, for David to be a part of our wedding party can be summed up by saying, it is an honor to have him as another wonderful person to stand with us on our day.

Michelle is a special friend of mine. We both used to work at the Walmart Vision Center and eventually became friends over time. Michelle has continued in the optical field working for the Northwest Eye Surgeons and one of the driving forces at Gateway Church of Sequim. Her presence is one that leaves you feeling honored to know her and her love for others runs deep. Because of her passion and love for Jesus, spending time with Michelle is like encountering someone you know you've had the privilege to meet. Johnny and I could not be happier than to have her as a part of our special day.

This is my first-born Michael, and what can I say? Our relationship started at conception. He is an amazing young man, who is full of love for others. His artistic studio "Creative Kingdoms" is taking the world by storm as his mission is for people to know the reality of Jesus through film with powerful messages. There's also a variety of cinema that he is involved in, and as his mother, I could not be prouder of the work he tirelessly pursues. 

I am honored that he has chosen to give me away in marriage to Johnny.

Michael Hailey

Talk about a wonderful person! Marcus is my 2nd born son and has always lived close to me or at least in the state that I've lived in. It's never been something he's "had" to do, but we are very close: both in proximity and also paternally, sharing a bond that only a mother can truly understand in love and so much more. 

Marcus has been that one son who's been there for me in some tough places I've had to personally walk through, and God will truly bless him for that.

He's a thinker and one who always aspires for more than the simple life, and I love him for it.

It's a privilege for him to be a groomsman in our wedding!

My youngest son is unique in the placement of our family as well as in temperament. He is one that if he has a goal, he doesn't just talk about obtaining it but goes after those dreams with passion and determination. Though very strong willed, he has one of the kindness hearts of anyone I know! 

Manuel has been a blessing in my life, and I love that we now share a life as friends too. 

It's gives me joy that he is a groomsman in our wedding.

Trista is my beloved niece, and I am honored to have her stand with me on this special day. The bond we share is meaningful, steady, and deeply treasured. I am grateful that she will be one of the witnesses to our union, marking this moment with her presence and her love.

A gifted songwriter, Trista carries a vision that reaches beyond the ordinary. God has blessed her with the ability to see big in a world that desperately needs dreamers, creators, and those who can imagine more.
