Mary Elizabeth and Christopher were introduced to one another through a mutual friend and had their first date on Halloween 2017 which resulted only in treats, no tricks. They got to know each other over the next few months by exploring Dallas’ great restaurant scene and taking their first trip to Aspen together, setting the stage for a future of many beautiful getaways to the city.
Over the years, Mary Liz and Chris got closer through bonding over their love for dry, red wine, travelling, close family relationships, and SEC football. They spent many Saturdays’ watching LSU and A&M football, visiting Baton Rouge and College Station to see their team’s face-off in person once a season! One of their most memorable trips to-date being their cruise to see Normandy Beach on the 75th anniversary of D-Day, satiating Chris’ deep interest in WWII and sharing in that historical milestone with Mary Liz.
Their lives together changed for the better when Maggie joined them in April 2021 – a bubbly and playful 8-week-old English Lab that instantly stole their hearts and brought them even closer together. Mary Liz and Christopher immediately loved teaching Maggie how to play and interact with others and bringing her on early weekend escapes to Austin and Broken Bow. Maggie has been a perfect “co-worker” while her dad has been back in school and loves long walks with her mom on the weekends.
On January 2, 2022, after a New Year’s Eve storm-delayed journey to Aspen, Chris got on one knee, with the beautiful snowy mountains behind him, and asked Mary Liz to marry him – of course, she said yes! After spending the rest of the week celebrating in their favorite city, they knew it was the right place for them to tie the knot as well.
Mary Elizabeth and Christopher are so excited for their closest family and friends to join them in Aspen and toast to their forever together!
