Our story began the way many good ones do—through a sweet mutual friend who just knew.
(Forever thankful for you, Claire Moulton Lindsey!!)
In late July, we were set up on a blind date and met for brunch after church at Nina’s in Forney. From the moment we sat down, something clicked. We talked, we laughed, and closed the restaurant down! By the end of that very week, we both knew there was something incredibly special between us.
On August 3, Mike asked Mary to be his girlfriend!
We said “I love you” on Labor Day—yes, that soon. But when you know, you know.
Our connection was instant, and our love has only grown deeper since.
From the very beginning, we’ve been best friends. Whether we’re traveling across Texas, working out, watching Aggie football on Saturdays, cooking dinner, going on spontaneous adventures, or just doing everyday life side by side—we truly have the best time together. Being together feels like home.
The proposal? It was perfectly Mike! On March 22, Mary thought Mike was away on a fishing trip. She headed to Cedar Hill State Park for what she believed was a family photoshoot—only to turn around and see Mike there, waiting to ask her to marry him. And of course… she said yes!
At the heart of our relationship is our shared faith in Jesus. He’s the reason we found each other, the foundation we build on, and the One who continues to draw us closer every single day.
Keeping Christ at the center has shaped our love and our future.
Mary loves everything about Mike—his selfless heart for others and the Lord, the way he loves her so well, how hard he works, and the fun they always have together.
Mike loves Mary's heart for Christ, her sense of humor, kindness, and gentle beauty. He feels that the way she treats people is unmatched. Mike often describes Mary as "perfect".
We’re so excited for all that’s ahead—life, love, ministry, laughter, and wherever the Lord leads us next. We can’t wait to step into forever, together!
