Our Wedding

Jacob and Mary met while working at Children's Hospital! Jacob had been working there for several years when Mary got hired. While Mary was on orientation, there wasn't much time to chat. One day at work, Jacob had a chance to talk to Mary. He leaned over the divider where her desk was to ask her: "Mary, have you ever had pickled red onions before?". Mary, puzzled but happy to be talking to Jacob and eager to impress him, replied that she had and she even knows how to make them. Overtime, Jacob and Mary became friends as they got to know each other and shared stories during 3AM chats at the nursing station. After a housewarming party at a friend's house, Jacob walked Mary to her car and told her that he liked her and asked her on a date. While they dated, Jacob and Mary enjoyed each others company by trying out restaurants, playing Skyjo in various LA cafes, and Jacob providing Mary with a movie education of countless classics she had yet to see. They were able to enjoy holidays and birthdays together and meet each other's families. On Mary's 28th birthday, Jacob asked Mary to marry him. The engagement season has not been what they've expected. Through doctor's appointments and surgery, Jacob has supported Mary the entire way. Canceling their October wedding and rescheduling for June was a decision that was scary to make but God is continuing to show them that it was the right decision. They can now start this next journey of Mary's treatment as husband and wife and could not be more thankful for family and friends and their support along the way.
