This page of our website was the most fun to put together. Auburn is an enchanted place that has captured both of our hearts at different times and in different ways, and we are so excited to share our home with you during our wedding weekend. This page has a lot of content--but whether you're an out-of-towner who has never been to the Loveliest Village on the Plains or an Auburn alum who hasn't been back for a while, we encourage you to explore this page--and the Take a Walk page--for great ways to see and experience the Auburn that we both love so much.
Rich in history and tradition, Toomer's Corner is the the heart of Downtown Auburn. We may not be rolling the Toomer's oaks on wedding weekend (though it's not the worst idea), but there's no reason why you shouldn't enjoy an ice cold Toomer's lemonade.
Home of the Momma's Love and the cheapest pitcher of PBR you'll find anywhere in the world, this is an Auburn institution.
We've also got some nacho recommendations:
- Traditional Nachos with peppers, of course
- Buff Nachos
- Cool Ranch Nachos with Muenster cheese and peppers (our personal favorite)
You might be feeling a little old for this adventure, but if you want to relive some of Rob's college days, this is a great place to start.
Auburn's incredible food scene might surprise you--here you'll find some of the breadth of Auburn's Dining options, starting with the finer dining options and moving into more casual territory.
Acre brunch was the site of our first date, and it has been a special place to us ever since. Great for brunch, lunch, or dinner, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Mary Katherine recommends the lacquered cornbread--you can thank her later.
Certainly Auburn's trendiest restaurant, you'll want to make a reservation. Great cocktails and one of the more interesting menus in town.
If you're still in town on Sunday, get the fried chicken. Trust us.
The Depot is Auburn's best seafood and oyster bar with great cocktails and an impressive wine list. You may also find a mustached Rob (and bridesmaid Carlie) modeling for their Valentine's Day instagram post...
We sneaky think Ariccia is one of Auburn's best restaurants, and it's right there at the Auburn University Hotel. The pizza is excellent, the focaccia is indulgently delicious, and Rob loves the Porchetta.
Another favorite of ours. Great food with a cozy patio and a little more casual atmosphere.
Mary Katherine discovered a cheat code here... get the Pear Salad with Steak--it's $5 more for essentially a whole Ribeye.
Right downtown, Big Blue has great bagels and sandwiches... and no shortage of sorority girls
Quirky coffees and delicious breakfast small bites
Great BBQ... but the breakfast is certainly delightful.
(Pour one out for BBQ House breakfast)
not really breakfast... but a trendy coffee shop/bookstore spot with wine, beer, kombucha, and some food. A newer Auburn spot, but it's a real treat.
Brand new food hall with eats of all kinds. A classic "we didn't have this when I was at Auburn" experience
Their shtick is bacon and bourbon... need we say more?
Also, the brunch is fantastic.
From the founders of Acre, this is a fusion of Tex-Mex and Texas-style BBQ. Think brisket enchiladas. What's not to love?
A timeless Auburn classic... think old fashioned burger joint with milkshakes and absolutely no nonsense.
Rob absolutely demanded that include Auburn's premier chicken tender establishment.
Of course, we already mentioned Sky Bar... but here you'll find night life options that will make you feel a little less old.
I know we already mentioned Ariccia Cucina in fine dining, but the bar will likely be an unofficial HQ for the wedding weekend. Don't miss the Piccolo Jazz Lounge if it's open!
Upstairs cocktail and beer bar with low-lit cozy loungy vibes
Brand New cocktail bar right downtown... has had a hot start and gets great reviews
If weather allows, this is a beautiful view over the Plains with creative cocktails and small bites. Aim for sunset if you get the chance (and be sure to book a reservation--it gets busy fast)
Formerly the Wittel Dorm, this quirky rooftop lounge sits atop the Collegiate Hotel and offers a lovely view of Auburn (as well as our beautiful church).
OK... not so much for grown-ups. This is still the kids' domain. But Moe's never gets old.
