Mary Katherine & Rob

April 1, 2023 • Auburn, AL, USA

This page of our website was the most fun to put together. Auburn is an enchanted place that has captured both of our hearts at different times and in different ways, and we are so excited to share our home with you during our wedding weekend. This page has a lot of content--but whether you're an out-of-towner who has never been to the Loveliest Village on the Plains or an Auburn alum who hasn't been back for a while, we encourage you to explore this page--and the Take a Walk page--for great ways to see and experience the Auburn that we both love so much.

Auburn Landmarks

Toomer's Corner

Picture of Toomer's Corner
100 N College St, Auburn, AL 36830, USA

Rich in history and tradition, Toomer's Corner is the the heart of Downtown Auburn. We may not be rolling the Toomer's oaks on wedding weekend (though it's not the worst idea), but there's no reason why you shouldn't enjoy an ice cold Toomer's lemonade.

Momma Goldberg's Deli

Picture of Momma Goldberg's Deli
500 W Magnolia Ave, Auburn, AL 36832, USA

Home of the Momma's Love and the cheapest pitcher of PBR you'll find anywhere in the world, this is an Auburn institution.

We've also got some nacho recommendations:

- Traditional Nachos with peppers, of course

- Buff Nachos

- Cool Ranch Nachos with Muenster cheese and peppers (our personal favorite)

Skybar Café

136 W Magnolia Ave, Auburn, AL 36830, USA

You might be feeling a little old for this adventure, but if you want to relive some of Rob's college days, this is a great place to start.

Food

Auburn's incredible food scene might surprise you--here you'll find some of the breadth of Auburn's Dining options, starting with the finer dining options and moving into more casual territory.

The Finer Side of Auburn Dining

Acre

Picture of Acre
210 E Glenn Ave, Auburn, AL 36830, USA
(334) 246-3763

Acre brunch was the site of our first date, and it has been a special place to us ever since. Great for brunch, lunch, or dinner, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Mary Katherine recommends the lacquered cornbread--you can thank her later.

Website

Lucy's

Picture of Lucy's
2300 Moores Mill Rd, Auburn, AL 36830, USA
(334) 521-0391

Certainly Auburn's trendiest restaurant, you'll want to make a reservation. Great cocktails and one of the more interesting menus in town.

If you're still in town on Sunday, get the fried chicken. Trust us.

The Depot

Picture of The Depot
124 Mitcham Ave, Auburn, AL 36830, USA
(334) 521-5177

The Depot is Auburn's best seafood and oyster bar with great cocktails and an impressive wine list. You may also find a mustached Rob (and bridesmaid Carlie) modeling for their Valentine's Day instagram post...

Ariccia Cucina Italiana

Picture of Ariccia Cucina Italiana
241 S College St, Auburn, AL 36830, USA
(334) 321-3115

We sneaky think Ariccia is one of Auburn's best restaurants, and it's right there at the Auburn University Hotel. The pizza is excellent, the focaccia is indulgently delicious, and Rob loves the Porchetta.

Amsterdam Cafe

Picture of Amsterdam Cafe
410 S Gay St, Auburn, AL 36830, USA
(334) 826-8181

Another favorite of ours. Great food with a cozy patio and a little more casual atmosphere.

Mary Katherine discovered a cheat code here... get the Pear Salad with Steak--it's $5 more for essentially a whole Ribeye.

Breakfast in Auburn

Big Blue Bagel & Deli

120 N College St, Auburn, AL 36830, USA
(334) 501-2245

Right downtown, Big Blue has great bagels and sandwiches... and no shortage of sorority girls

COFFEE CAT

124 Tichenor Ave, Auburn, AL 36830, USA
(334) 744-1953

Quirky coffees and delicious breakfast small bites

Byron's Smokehouse

436 Opelika Rd, Auburn, AL 36830, USA
(334) 887-9981

Great BBQ... but the breakfast is certainly delightful.

(Pour one out for BBQ House breakfast)

Well Red

223 Opelika Rd, Auburn, AL 36830, USA
(334) 246-3021

not really breakfast... but a trendy coffee shop/bookstore spot with wine, beer, kombucha, and some food. A newer Auburn spot, but it's a real treat.

More Lunch and Dinner

Hey Day Market

211 S College St, Auburn, AL 36830, USA
(800) 228-2876

Brand new food hall with eats of all kinds. A classic "we didn't have this when I was at Auburn" experience

THE HOUND

124 Tichenor Ave, Auburn, AL 36830, USA
(334) 246-3300

Their shtick is bacon and bourbon... need we say more?

Also, the brunch is fantastic.

Bow & Arrow

1977 E Samford Ave, Auburn, AL 36830, USA
(334) 246-2546

From the founders of Acre, this is a fusion of Tex-Mex and Texas-style BBQ. Think brisket enchiladas. What's not to love?

Sheila C's Burger Barn

622 Shug Jordan Pkwy, Auburn, AL 36832, USA
(334) 283-5200

A timeless Auburn classic... think old fashioned burger joint with milkshakes and absolutely no nonsense.

Tenda Chick

232 N Dean Rd, Auburn, AL 36830, USA
(334) 821-8543

Rob absolutely demanded that include Auburn's premier chicken tender establishment.

N i g h t L i f e (for grown-ups)

Of course, we already mentioned Sky Bar... but here you'll find night life options that will make you feel a little less old.

Ariccia Bar + Piccolo 241 Jazz & Cocktails

241 S College St, Auburn, AL 36830, USA
(334) 844-5140

I know we already mentioned Ariccia Cucina in fine dining, but the bar will likely be an unofficial HQ for the wedding weekend. Don't miss the Piccolo Jazz Lounge if it's open!

The Avondale Bar & Tap Room

106 N College St, Auburn, AL 36830, USA

Upstairs cocktail and beer bar with low-lit cozy loungy vibes

Session Cocktails

157 E Magnolia Ave, Auburn, AL 36830, USA
(205) 201-0348

Brand New cocktail bar right downtown... has had a hot start and gets great reviews

The Laurel Hotel and Spa - Rooftop Lounge

130 E Thach Ave, Auburn, AL 36830, USA
(833) 950-1819

If weather allows, this is a beautiful view over the Plains with creative cocktails and small bites. Aim for sunset if you get the chance (and be sure to book a reservation--it gets busy fast)

The Collegiate Hotel - The Bar at Wittel

205 S Gay St, Auburn, AL 36830, USA
(334) 821-2646

Formerly the Wittel Dorm, this quirky rooftop lounge sits atop the Collegiate Hotel and offers a lovely view of Auburn (as well as our beautiful church).

Moe's Original BBQ - Auburn

125 E Magnolia Ave, Auburn, AL 36830, USA
(334) 821-1430

OK... not so much for grown-ups. This is still the kids' domain. But Moe's never gets old.
