The Yosemite Valley Chapel is a historic building and loving place of worship located in the heart of Yosemite Valley. Easily accessed as you enter the park on Southside Drive! As you enter the Valley, you will see El Capitan, then Bridalveil Falls, then keep going towards the Chapel on your right. The Reception: The Awahnee Hotel

Transportation to Yosemite Valley in the Winter is very accessible, more than one might think! If you have a 4WD/AWD that's great. If not, most likely you will need to carry tire chains/cables. The most reliable, easiest access road to Yosemite Valley is Highway 140 (the western entrance from Mariposa) however the windier, shorter option (also accessible in winter, just has a few more twists and turns) is Highway 41. Both may require drivers to carry or put on tire chains depending on road conditions. Please check road conditions prior to your trip to consider if you may need to carry chains in your vehicle. Note: You will NOT need an advanced "reservation" to enter the park (as it is not a peak season). Here are a couple website with information regarding road conditions and how to find updates. Also, please budget the $35 entrance fee (per vehicle) into your plans. The $35 is required upon entry and covers you up to 3-consecutive days (if you need to exit/re-enter the park). I recommend booking your stay as early as possible! Lodging options will likely start to fill up around 6 months out, so best book 8-12 months away. I definitely recommend rooming with friends and family/partners.

Ice skate under the spectacular half dome! Ice skate rentals available and hot chocolate for sale, along with s'mores and a fire pit!

Curry Village Ice Skating Rink

My favorite hiking in Yosemite is in the winter! Cool weather, low crowd factor, and beautiful sites. Microspikes recommended for your hiking boots and trekking poles as you walk around the valley floor or climb up the trails!
