The picture above was taken on April 12. It was the first photo Mary Kendall and I had ever taken together. At 11:40ish p.m. the night before I had asked Mary Kendall if we could make it official, she said "Yes".
When people ask how we met I always say "Hinge but the truth is we were introduced by the King of Kings". It will usually get a laugh or two. But it is never a joke. I know 100% without a single doubt that Mary Kendall and I were chosen long before we were ever born to be together.
As I type this I reflect on the stories that I have with Mary Kendall. The mission trip to Zambia or vacationing at Victoria falls. The road trips to Corpus Christi, Athens, Fayetteville, Alabama, College station, Graham or Houston. All 20 weddings we attended in 2025. Backyard campouts or parties at 4417 Donnelly. The hours we spent laying on a quilt in the yard under the sun or stars.
But the truth is I can’t capture the joy and love in words that all of these memories and moments hold in my heart. One thing about knowing and loving Mary Kendall is there is always a next adventure right around the corner, and I happily wait (it will always be planned and in her calendar too, so don’t be late).
I look forward to seeing each of you in Buffalo Gap Texas and embarking on this next great adventure.
I am head over heels in love with Mary Kendall Benton. And I am eternally grateful that He introduced us.
