Our Wedding

Mary and Tim first met around the wooden building blocks and crayon-laden kindergarten classroom of Christ the King School. Throughout grade school, Mary excelled in reading and art while masterfully embracing the grace and maturity of an A+ student. Tim preferred PE class and -while slower to develop an equal reverence for authority- skillfully cultivated a knack for making Mary laugh. Their friendship continued through high school, culminating in Tim’s sophomore year winter-formal-dance-kiss-attempt received with utter rejection. Mary’s devotion to her hard-to-get performance led her to leave the state to attend University of South Carolina while Tim played the long game, awaiting her return to Nebraska. As fate would have it, a global pandemic prematurely ended Mary’s Nebraska hiatus. While visiting pals in Lincoln the two life-long friends were reunited along the neon lights of O street. Mary finally dropped the hard-to-get act and this time Tim’s romantic courtship was better received. Tim asked her to be his girlfriend on April 1st not fully appreciating the significance of the date. Over the subsequent years Mary and Tim’s relationship flourished united by a common passion for service in healthcare and a devotion towards one another. Tim finally thought of a worthy April fools punchline, asking for her hand in marriage twenty years after they first met.

Information to consider when booking: The Marriott is approximately 3 miles from Sacred Heart Church where the wedding ceremony will be held and approximately 1 mile from the Omaha Design Center where the reception will be held. Marriott offers complimentary shuttle service within a 3 mile range, however it is not a guarantee and only available as first come first serve. The shuttle goes back and forth from the airport at the top of each hour daily. Room block &amp; rate expires on 5/9/25

Situated in the historic Old Market, La Buvette is a favorite date destination for Tim and Mary. Enjoy the daily handwritten menus and vast wine selection (that won't break the bank). The intimate environment is perfect for small parties. La Buvette does not take reservations, so we recommend coming early, but we always find the wait is worth it! Tim and Mary's favorite memory at La Buvette was sharing a bottle of sauvignon blanc and charcuterie board as a newly (one hour) engaged couple.

A favorite of Tim and Mary's located in the Little Bohemia neighborhood. Enjoy a cocktail on the block inspired by the happy couple's shared Czech heritage. Fizzy's offers a delicious diner themed menu. If their line is too long head next door to the Czech Inn for darts and popcorn. Tim and Mary's favorite memory of Little Bohemia occured when Tim accidently bought $20 worth of juke box song requests. He also unknowingly requested $20 worth of the same song (which will be played at their first dance). And yes, they proceeded to dance to every iteration.

Fizzy's Fountain & Liquors/The Czech Inn

Explore the best zoo in the world! See the king of the jungle and travel to the depths of the oceans at this one of a kind immersive experience. A staple of Tim and Mary's childhood field trips, the zoo has remained near and dear to their hearts. In adulthood, Late Night at the Zoo during the summer has become an event Tim and Mary look forward to every year.
