Our Story

Logan’s POV

I first saw Mary-Margaret in the fall of 2019. It was my first semester at Mississippi State. We had a class together and although I didn’t pay much attention in class, I could tell you where she sat and how pretty I thought she was. It was easy to know where she sat (the front) because I liked to sit in the very back where I thought the teacher wouldn’t ask me questions. Looking back, I wish I would have had the guts to go up and talk to her back then, but our story is a perfect example of God’s perfect timing.

So, I didn’t actually talk to Mary-Margaret until the fall of 2021. I was following her on social media for a while and finally messaged her for the first time on September 9th. We hit it off immediately and I couldn’t wait to meet her in person. That day came in late September when I told her I was going to a concert that night and that I’d love for her to come. She ended up buying tickets to the wrong thing, but somehow got in anyway. We met at the concert and sat outside talking before the band played and continued to talk all the way through the concert. We did manage to catch the last few songs and as all of you know, Mary-Margaret has since found her new favorite band–Mustache. Since then we have regularly gone to see Mustache Band every time they play at Rick’s and it will always be special because that is where we met.

Our story continued after that night as we kept hanging out and talking every time we were both free. I finally asked her to be my girlfriend on November 13th, 2021, the night of her last ADPi formal and the first date party I went with her to. We haven’t looked back since then and on July 8th, 2023 I asked her to marry me. This has been and always will be the best decision I have ever made. Mary-Margaret is loving, kind, and the most selfless person I know. She is more than I could ever dream of, and I thank God for her everyday. Never did I think that a “city girl” would fall for a small town country boy like me, but I sure am glad my “city girl” is Mary-Margaret. I love you more than you know MM, let’s get married!

MM’s POV

I wish I could say I really remember seeing Logan in class in 2019 but he sat in the back and as we all know I loved school and was always towards the front paying attention lol!

On September 9, 2021 I had a crazy busy day. I was still serving as President of ADPi and we had a candlelight to celebrate an engagement that night before dinner for one of my sweet friends Mary Gray. When it was all done, I posted a picture of me and her with her ring on my snapchat and went on with my day. I was on my way to go eat dinner with my friends and saw that this guy named Logan had snapchatted me. Of course my first reaction was to tell my friends when we got to dinner so we looked him up on instagram and passed his picture around the table (Don’t worry Logan we thought you were cute!!)

It was the beginning of my senior year and I was always busy but I found myself making time to check my phone to answer Logan. Like all the time. We were talking everyday and finally at the end of September, I got the chance to meet him in person. He told me he was going to a concert at Rick’s and I should come. Knowing I had to go, I found Regan and convinced her that she had to come with me so I could meet him. It was probably the last thing she wanted to do at the time but I’m so glad she did. Regan and I got tickets and walked over to Rick’s. Somehow we bought tickets to the wrong thing but the security guard let us in anyway. Logan would tell you I was nervous to meet him, but when we finally found him, we sat at a table outside and talked forever. The whole night felt like 5 minutes to me! I knew then that I wanted to keep him around for a long time!

From that point on, I was spending every free minute I had hanging out with him. I talked about him non stop to my friends. If I didn’t already know he was the one, I definitely did after seeing him meet all my family and friends. He fit in perfectly and it was like he had always been around. If you know me, you know I am a planner. All of my friends will tell you, I was always saying I couldn’t have a boyfriend while I was president because I didn’t have time. I am so glad that God is in control and not me! He brought Logan into my life at the most perfect time for both of us.

We have had so much fun since that first night going to Mississippi State games, date parties, concerts, and just our everyday life! I couldn’t imagine spending my life with anyone else. Logan has taught me so much in 2 years about being in the moment, slowing down, and loving the people around you. July 8 was the best day yet when we got engaged! I am counting down the days to October 12, 2024!!
