Actual story:

Mary and I met on January 27th, 2022 in College Station at the Dixie Chicken. Earlier that day, my friend Erica approached me and said she had a friend she wanted me to meet. They were in nursing school together and Erica thought we would be a good match. The plan was to go to the Chicken that night to meet up with her friend. I was already planning on going to Northgate with my roommate, Woods, so I thought there was no harm in meeting Erica’s friend as well. Erica, Woods, and I got there and found a table to sit at close to the bar. Woods and I went up to the bar to order our usual, Ranch Water. A few minutes later she came walking towards us. Erica went over to give her a hug and introduce her to the table. Then I met her… Erin, Mary’s college roommate. Although Erin and I didn’t hit it off as Erica had hoped, the night was not a complete bust. Erin had brought her roommate, Mary, along. Mary was wearing a brown shirt and jeans and was out of my league. Lucky for me, she sat right beside me at the table. I was too nervous to say anything at first, so I went back up to the bar for some more liquid courage. After a few more ranch waters, I finally had to say something to her. I hit her with the best pick-up line I could think of, “Your name’s Mary right?”. We only talked that night for about 10 minutes, but from our short time together, I knew there was something special about her. She had an amazing personality and a beautiful soul. I had to see her again. The next week I asked Mary out on our first date.

Kyle and I met in January of 2022 on a Thursday night at a College Station staple, the Dixie Chicken (“the chicken”). My college roommate, Erin, was invited by one of her friends from nursing school, Erica, to hang out with Erica’s friends at the chicken. Erin didn’t know Erica had plans to set her up with Kyle, so she invited me to come too. Erin and I got there early and hung out together before Erica and her friends arrived. When they arrived, Erin and I joined them at their table by the bar and met everyone. I happened to be sitting next to Kyle, and later in the night, Kyle struck up a conversation with me. We only talked for about 10 minutes, because I had my first nursing clinical the next morning and didn’t want to stay out late. The next week Kyle asked me out on our first date and the rest is history!

Kyle didn’t tell me Erica was actually trying to set him up with Erin until we had been dating for a few months. Luckily there were no hard feelings!
