Where should we stay?

Click the "Travel" tab on the website. We recommend the Central Station Hotel because we have a room block and fantastic rate there and we will provide shuttles to and from the hotel for the ceremony and reception. That said, there are a ton of great hotels downtown (including the famous Peabody Hotel with the ducks!). And the Hilton Memphis is a great option out of the hustle & bustle of downtown.

Do we need to rent a car?

Nope! You can Uber or Lyft from the airport to the downtown hotels. Downtown is walkable and we will be providing shuttle transportation from the hotel downtown to the wedding venue and back. That said, if you want to go see Graceland or shop, you may want to rent a car to see the sites. Totally optional!

I've heard Memphis is very hot & humid. What should we expect?

It will likely still be hot & humid in Memphis in September. ;) Keep an eye on the weather forecast but plan for summer weather. Air conditioning and cold beverages will be abundant.

What should I wear to the wedding?

The dress code is black tie optional. But it will be hot. The vibe of the evening is festive & fun - so have fun with it. :) Bring on the sparkles, feathers, blue suede shoes, bright colors - you name it.

Are you welcoming kids at the wedding?

While we absolutely LOVE your kids, we've decided to keep our wedding ceremony and reception a grown-up occasion. We hope you will understand and still be able to attend. If you decide to bring your kids to Memphis for the weekend and need help finding childcare for the events, please feel free to text Mary and we will work on getting some names of trusted babysitters for you! (Young adults are welcomed as noted on your invitation.)

Will I get to try Ernie's/Hog Wild BBQ?

Is the Pope Catholic? Kidding. But yes you will indeed.

What should we do Saturday during the day?

We're working on a setting up some fun 'behind the scenes' tours and a great list of shopping/restaurant recommendations - stay tuned.

I've heard about the rising crime in Memphis. Should I be concerned?

Like most big cities, Memphis has sadly faced a rise in crime over the past three years. That said, Memphis is an incredible city you should feel excited and comfortable exploring and enjoying. Our rule of thumb is: be aware of your surroundings, as you would in any big city, and especially at night. AND in the evenings, to just stick with the group. We will be coordinating transportation and will have security at all of our scheduled events.

I have a question that's not listed on here.

Text or call Mary or Gary and we're happy to chat about anything - logistics, food allergies, etc.
