From Mary's point of view:

One of my favorite things about going to Penn State was the Dance Marathon (THON). Every year I was super excited about it and was always involved in some way. Nate and I initially met through a mutual friend during THON. Every time we crossed paths that weekend in my head I was thinking "wow that guy is so kind and he's so cute." But I didn't know him at all so we pretty much went our separate ways.

A month later I am working at my job in the West Campus Dining Hall, and this cute guy from THON starts showing up almost every time I'm working. To paint the picture - my campus dining hall uniform consisted of a dark grey polo shirt tucked into black pants, and a black baseball cap with a big fork right in the middle of it - haha! It was not my best look. I was hoping that Nate wouldn't notice me in my uniform, but of course he did and always made a point of coming up to me to say hi.

Nate ended up joining a club that I was in, so we started hanging out a lot, and when he travelled to a water polo tournament to watch us play, I started to get the hint. So when I needed a date to the formal, I knew I wanted to ask Nate. When I asked him if he'd go with me, he smoothly responded "only if I can take you out to lunch this week." And so he took me out for a lunch date the next day, and now here we are!

The past 5 years have been mostly long distance, but we've been on so many adventures together and seen so many cool places. Getting married and starting our life together is our best adventure yet. Everything I've prayed for in a husband seems to be wrapped up perfectly in Nate and how he loves me. I'm so excited for what's to come and to see what God has in store for us. There's nobody else I would want to do that with. We are so blessed, and we are SO EXCITED!!
