James' first weekend trip to visit Mary in Southern California which turned into 2 weeks when James stepped off the plane to stay longer and then Mary drove up to SF to stay with James.

Beautiful luau just before sunset. When Mary was getting ready for our first Luau, I asked Mary "Is it in the shopping mall? Because that looks like a Sephora behind the fire-breather." Aghast, Mary quickly looked for a beach luau follow-up and it did not disappoint.

We love taking roadtrips with Holly and listening to audiobooks during the long drives. In Solvang between LA and SF, there's a Dutch town with local wineries, dutch pancakes, and an Ostrich farm.

One of our first projects, Mary helped me build these redwood shelves for our bedroom.

Matthew miraculously got extra tickets to Taylor Swift, so we flew to Atlanta to see Patty, Matthew, Noah, and Avery for the show.

I took Mary to Carmel-by-the-Sea where we got wine, cheese to watch the sunset on the beach. Before I proposed I sneakily set up a camera for us to take a pic. This is the before.

And this is the after photo. I have a great video, too, where she first tells me I'm a liar (for claiming I didn't buy a ring yet), and then yells at Holly to stop choking on a stick. She did eventually say yes.

Our friend Zack (small guy above Mary's head) rented out a theater for the Barbie premier. Mary would be annoyed if I (James) didn't include her Barbie outfit in the timeline.

Our friends Zack and Nikki threw us a wonderful engagement party for friends in San Francisco. The theme was Princess Bride, the greatest rom com of all time.

My Mom visited after the proposal and stayed with us. I was thrilled to show her our home.

Mary's dream trip for her 35th birthday was Europe/Paris. We started in London, before taking a train to Paris and Brussels.

The Palace of Versailles was breathtaking, and we enjoyed walking around the gardens.

Of course, Mary required us to go to Disneyland Paris. She was a little too affectionate with Capt Hook.

Belgians REALLY love fries, and the Fry Museum in Bruge was magical.
