Our Wedding

Maryann and Nick met back at W.T. Woodson High School. Ms. Garguilo assigned Nick to sit right behind Maryann in Spanish class due to alphabetical order (Rainey &amp; Reyes). They also happened to be placed in the same elective Gourmet Foods cooking class. The two started as class friends where Maryann would encourage Nick to complete his&nbsp;homework before class commenced as opposed to his usual procrastination prerogative. Eventually, they ended up sharing the same kitchen in Gourmet Foods Class. This is where they began to bond. Inevitably, Nick would find himself washing the dishes, and Maryann would dry them. Other Classmates would pester Nick that he should be dating Maryann, asking “why aren’t you all dating?”&nbsp; Then one day, a rat ran through the Gourmet Foods classroom which led to a relocation to the cafeteria for study hall. It was during this time that Nicholas decided to casually and quickly ask Maryann if she would like to go out with him. However, he asked her while speaking Spanish. He did this in hopes other classmates would not overhear the proposition. This led to a confusing conversation, as Maryann didn't understand the full meaning of his question. She thought, “why is he asking me to go somewhere, but not saying where?” Nick got frustrated and explained what he had been trying to do. After school, they went to Wendy’s together and had their first date. Next thing she knew, Maryann was on her way to meet Nick’s family. Nick proudly struts into his house and announces to his parents “I have a girlfriend.” His dad didn’t believe him until moments later when Maryann walked in. Little did she know that over the next ten years these strangers would undoubtedly become her family.&nbsp; Nick and Maryann withstood the transition to college as they both enrolled into George Mason. Each day they enjoyed having lunch together on campus. The next year Maryann transferred to Virginia Tech, which turned their relationship long-distance. The two were able to focus on their schoolwork and enjoyed their college experience with friends. Whenever possible, Nick would speed down 66 to make weekend trips to visit Maryann at school. Together they enjoyed tailgates and football games. With the help of Maryann, Nick got to see what off campus apartment living was like. In March 2020, Maryann spent spring break in Orlando, FL as the pandemic rolled in. Virginia Tech informed all students to stay home as classes would be held virtually for the rest of the semester. This meant Maryann would be returning to the ghost town of Blacksburg. During this time, Nick stayed with Maryann for extended periods of time as his work allowed. These visits unveiled a preview of what cohabitating would look like. They fondly shared quality time, meals, and grocery shopping.&nbsp;&nbsp; Following graduation, and one final summer together in Blacksburg the two of them moved out of Northern VA. Together they sailed to Virginia beach in pursuit of Maryann’s exciting new job offer to the Navy. In October 2020 at 23 years old, Maryann bought her first house. Eager to start adulthood, Nick and Maryann moved in together. Side by side they navigated the struggles of a pandemic, Nick finding a new job, making new friends in the area, and upkeep a new home. In their spare time, Nick and Maryann enjoyed board game nights, watching movies together, hanging out with new friends, and exploring the restaurants in their new hometown. Three years later after moving in, the two went on their very first cruise together, a Disney Cruise to be exact. It was on Castaway Cay Nick popped the question accompanied with a heartfelt speech. Fast forward to our exciting wedding day, celebrating 11 years together since our very first date at Wendy's back on May 2, 2014.

Nick's Fiancé, High School Sweetheart since May 2, 2014, and soon to be Wife! Mother of 2 year old Pumpkin, a fluffy, Pembroke Welsh Corgi, that Maryann brought home to join their family back in Sept 2022. She worked for the Navy for 4 years as a civilian, Human Resource Specialist. In her spare time she enjoys, date nights with Nick, playdates with Pumpkin's best corgi friend Penny, attending deep water aerobics classes at the local rec center, watching movies, and traveling when she gets the chance.

Maryann Rainey

Maryann's Fiancé, High School Sweetheart since 2014, and soon to be Husband, and will official father status to Pumpkin on our wedding day! He works as a _ engineer by day, is a DND player, and sometime dungeon master, who also plays magic the gathering in his spare time. Enjoys watching others play video games as well as play himself, with friends online, and loves playing board games, you should see his collection.

Nicholas Reyes

Maryann’s younger sister. The shadow who followed her throughout Maryann’s childhood. She's a real-life Hokie EMT, who's ready to assist in any medical emergency. Converted to be a Grey's Anatomy fan by her sister, after initial disinterest, who now claims to be a bigger fan than Maryann.

Nick’s brother, an Optometrist, who's married to Rosa Reyes, and father of Levi Reyes. 

Marc Reyes

Maryann’s sister in law, Joey Rainey’s wife, and mother to River Rainey, Zuki, & Ovi. The life of every party. A retired Baltimore Ravens Cheerleader. 

Kayla Evans

Maryann's older Brother, Kayla Evan's Husband, and River Rainey's, Zuki's, and Ovi's father, who watches too much sports.

Joey Rainey

Maryann’s cousin who grew up together since they were babies. Bre is an awesome high school teacher beloved by her students for relatability and who also can be confused for a student herself. Recent first time homeowner with her boyfriend Justin.

Bre Brown

Nick's George Mason Colleague and friend who also studied Electrical Engineering. Married to Hazel Stuck.

Brandon Stuck

Maryann's aunt who watched her grow up along side her daughter, Bre. She is also newly single, and ready to mingle.

Ann Marie Brown

Nicks friend from high school who also plays DND, and magic the gathering.

Nick's friend from high school and George Mason who plays DND and magic the gathering. Engaged to James.

Nick's friend from VA Beach who he found attending 20/30s Facebook group in the area.
