MaryKate and Philip met on Hinge in May 2021. MaryKate had just moved to Chicago from Eastpointe, MI in early April 2021, and Philip had just moved into a new house with his 3 roommates. After chatting online and deciding to plan to meet up in person for a first date, MaryKate and Philip realized (after a very amusing back and forth) that they actually lived across the street from each other in Lincoln Park.

Their first date was on 5.27.21 at Halligan's Bar. The rest, as they say, is history.

Philip proposed on 7.30.24 on the bridge overlooking the Nature Boardwalk in Lincoln Park.

After getting engaged in July 2024, MaryKate and Philip had quickly decided on their wedding day, to be celebrated in Italy - 10.22.25. The date had additional meaning to MaryKate, as it is also the wedding anniversary date of her parents, Mike and Colleen. Soon after their engagement, MaryKate and Philip had made plans to get legally married in the U.S. prior to the wedding day in Italy. The couple decided it would be both romantic and meaningful to 'lock-in' their date - a full year early! MaryKate and Philip were married at the Chicago Courthouse on 10.22.24, with their cousin Kelly Bush as the witness and photographer. Though it was a big surprise for their friends and family, it was a perfect day of love, laughter and excitement for their future together as husband and wife.

Now they can't wait to celebrate with friends and family, one year later!
