Our story begins with Tinder! Matt and I matched mid April 2019. We chatted for a week or so before we planned our first date on April 25. We agreed to meet at Scandia (Kelowna) for some games and mini golf and see where it went. After a couple of hours there having a lot of fun, we decided to hop into my car (leaving Matt’s car at Scandia) and went to the beach and then for some dinner. After a few more hours we decided to head back to Scandia so Matt could get his car and head back to Vernon (where he was living at the time). Unknown to us, the parking lot compound at Scandia locked the gates at 11pm and it was around 11:45 by the time we returned. Well Matt had to work the next day, so I drove him home to Vernon that night. Matt then got a ride to work the next day, and then I picked him up from Vernon when he finished work and drove him back to Scandia to pick up his car. From that day on we were making plans whenever we could and the rest is history!

It was our 3 year anniversary on April 25 2022. Matt had planned to go for a beautiful dinner at Quail gate winery, and then to Scandia for some games and mini golf (Scandia has become our go to date night place)! After a lovely dinner we decided to play some mini golf, and even though Matt is exceptionally better than I, we were having a blast! Now, Scandia indoor mini golf is pirate themed, and on the 15th hole there is a wooden stock as a photo op, so Matt suggested to take a picture of me “stuck” in the stocks. Matt then (very convincingly) fumbled his phone and dropped it, making him get down to pick it up. So there I am, in this wooden stock, looking ridiculous as Matt then get down ON ONE KNEE and asked to spend forever together! It was very obviously the easiest YES in the world!
