“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”
— Ecclesiastes 4:12

Lauren and Matt’s story is a testimony to God’s grace, patience, and perfect timing.
~~
Nearly a decade ago, we met on a coffee date. While we shared interests in family, fitness, and health, God was already at work—shaping our hearts in different ways and preparing us for something greater than we could see at the time.
~~
During that season, God was transforming Matt’s identity, teaching him to place his worth not in his work, relationships, or accomplishments, but in Christ alone. Lauren, strong and compassionate, was learning what it meant to release the weight of anxiety she carried and trust God's timing more fully with her heart.
~~
Though our paths did not align at first, God kept us connected through friendship and conversation. Seeds of love were planted, curiosity grew, and our hearts began to open. Even during seasons of separation, God was still moving—drawing us closer to Him before drawing us back to one another.
~~
In that time apart, Lauren stepped boldly into her faith, finding church, community, and discipleship. Her walk with Christ deepened, and her life began to reflect His love in new and powerful ways. At the same time, God was calling Matt into ministry, shaping his heart for service, obedience, and surrender.
~~
When God reunited us, everything was different. This time, our relationship was built on prayer, trust, and Christ at the center—the third strand in our cord. We are different in many ways— Lauren a planner and dreamer, Matt steady and laid back—but God has used those differences to refine us, strengthen us, and draw us closer to Him and to each other.
~~
Through prayer and discernment, the Lord made His will clear. What once felt uncertain became undeniable. God revealed that our union was His design.
~~
As we step into marriage, we do so with gratitude and humility—knowing our love story is not about us alone, but about what God can do when hearts are surrendered to Him. Our prayer is that our marriage would glorify Christ and reflect His love to all who encounter it.
