A Milwaukee Must: the MKE Art Museum

Please do yourself a favor and make a little time for this amazing museum! If you can't make it, at the very least, check out the Calatrava vista from the park nearby. Even the building itself is an art installation!

Nearby Fun Awaits at the MKE Public Market

This is one of the country's best public markets, and actually a short walk away from the Cambria. There's plenty to see, drink, and eat here, so come hungry.

after the market, check out Mke's historic third ward

One of my favorite, if not my favorite places in the city. Fabulous bars, incredible restaurants, provoking art galleries, great coffee, and marvelous shopping. Why say more?

First, stop by Likewise Coffee, then head over to Donut Monster for a sweet treat. While drinking and munching, go on a gallery walk and check out Lily Pad Gallery West, Marn Art + Culture Hub (and re-up on cold brew!), and Tory Folliard Gallery. For some shopping, stop by Mod Gen, find something second hand at Retique, and make a pit stop at Anthropologie. Lastly, grab a bite at Bavette La Boucherie, or The Edison or Merriment Social for something more casual. Honorable mention to The Wicked Hop which serves a mean Bloody. The Tied House, Camp Bar, and Broken Bat Brewing are all great spots to grab a beer or cocktail!

welcome to the beer capital of the U.S.! (world? world.)

You should try to take a legendary brewery tour at Lakefront if you have time (or your hangover allows). But, if all else fails, at least stop by the beer hall for bites and brews.

Along a similar thread, try and track down a case of New Glarus Beer (it's not hard - any gas station or grocery store will carry many varieties)! This local beer is only sold in Wisconsin, so stock up. My personal favorite is Moon Man, but the layman would love Spotted Cow.
