Matt and Manda met July of 2023. They were both looking for someone special and would not settle for less. They met at Brixx in Boise, ID and they realized very quickly that they had as many things in common as they had differences. She liked staying in on a Friday night with a Root Beer and some treats and he spent his on a high school football field under the lights. His dream was always a Gatorade bath after a big victory and hers was being the hardest worker for her accounting team. Differences aside, they realized they both loved country music, concerts and Zach Bryan especially. He wanted someone to support his love of sports and coaching and she attended every game; rain or shine. As a family oriented homebody; Manda hadn’t traveled much, and he wanted to be the tour guide. He took her to see McCall, Moscow (his beloved alma mater), Seattle (to watch the Braves) and Idaho City for her first tent camping trip. McCall was the location of the very first photo they ever took together and their first trip as a “couple” and was then the location of the epic proposal. Manda set up the phone at the behest of Matt for their annual photo and turned around to the surprise of her life, Matt on one knee with the prettiest thing she had ever seen in his hand. After much confusion and lots of hugs and kisses she said yes and the rest is history. Turns out there’s only so much truth to opposites attract, because they were inseparable!
Matt and Manda met in July of 2023, both on the lookout for someone truly special—and neither willing to settle for less. Their first meeting was at Brixx in Boise, ID, and it didn’t take long to realize that while they had as many differences as they did things in common, those differences only made them more intrigued by each other. Manda enjoyed staying in on a Friday night with a root beer and some treats, while Matt spent his Fridays on a high school football field, living out his dream of one day getting a Gatorade bath after a big victory. Manda, on the other hand, dreamed of being the hardest worker for her accounting team.
Despite these differences, they quickly found common ground in their love for country music, concerts, and especially Zach Bryan. Matt wanted someone who would support his passion for sports and coaching, and Manda showed up to every game—rain or shine. As a family-oriented homebody, Manda hadn’t traveled much, but Matt was more than happy to be her tour guide. He took her to McCall, Moscow (his beloved alma mater), Seattle (to watch the Braves), and Idaho City for her first tent camping trip. Each trip brought new memories and deepened their connection.
McCall, in particular, held a special place in their hearts. It was where they took their very first photo together, marking their first trip as a couple. It was also where, a little later, Matt orchestrated the perfect proposal. Manda set up the phone for their annual photo and turned around to the surprise of her life: Matt was on one knee, holding the most beautiful ring she had ever seen. After the initial shock, lots of hugs, and a few tears, she said yes—and the rest is history.
Turns out, there’s more truth to opposites attract than they ever thought, because through all the differences, they realized how perfectly they fit together. They’ve been inseparable ever since, building a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure.
