We met through our mutual friends, Dan & Carrie Hohf (both of whom are in our bridal party!). Brianna moved back to Detroit in late January 2023 and Dan & Carrie generously

opened their home to her as a temporary place to land.

In February, Brianna, Carrie, and Dan were making plans to go out to dinner and Brianna felt bad that Dan would have to hang out with the girls, so she said he could bring a friend.

Dan asked Matt if he wanted to come along and in advance of dinner,

Carrie and Brianna made it clear to Dan that this would not be a double date or a set up;

Brianna was not interested in dating anyone!

Throughout the evening, Matt and Brianna talked a lot and had a great time together,

and within a couple weeks, they went on their first official date.
